Carlos has two families, a birth family, and an adopted family. He is estranged from neither. He performed recently with Ronstadt Generations. He is not really a public figure so out of respect for Linda his life doesn't need to be examined by us.

Kindly state for the record where the hell you got your info from, because I suspect you're the one that put this information over there at Wikipedia.

wow, houses are still very very expensive, and esp in ca (san fran and la/oc esp) Linda did mention this.(high cost) That newer san fran home, around 2 mil, (and I choke when saying this) was probably more in her budget. I don't know what her needs are these days or if she needs more or less.. but she chose a very very expensive area in the US to live.. (from Tucson) to SF it's all about location. I tend to think the housing market is one very overpriced market. I recall Linda was taken aback by how expensive homes in the San Francisco area had gotten but I didn't think San Francisco was that much different from any other location in the US. Like what seems to be the case on everything else going on in the US with the cost of living, the cost of housing is way out of proportion to the wages earned. Of course, Linda probably paid cash and likely didn't have to take out a mortgage, so she probably wouldn't have to worry about that count. But, should she ever decide to sell and relocate again, I'd hope she'd get what she paid for it although there are hundreds if thousands of stories about homes whose value have decreased considerably from their selling price. I don't know what her needs are either but I recall reading on her wikipedia entry that when her adopted son Carlos turned 18 earlier this year, he sought out his birth parents, found them, took their last name and I guess moved out to be with them. I had to wonder how Linda felt about that if the entry was true? Was it with her blessing or was it a bitter slap in the face? I haven't read anything on whether her adopted daughter Mary still lives at home with her or has moved out but if Linda is the only one living in the home, well, ir may be more than what she needs but it may just be what she likes. I can only speak in terms from where I lived before, Orange County, Ca to now, The Oregon northern coast.. and yes, homes/property are a lot less cheaper.. I doubt you can purchase a newer 2000 sq ft home on almost 1/2 acre, a mile from the ocean for under 200k.. in so ca, you're lucky if you can get a little egg on top of your neighbors house for 300k..a house near the water, forget it.. that would be more what Linda paid for her more recent home.. in terms of food, gas ect, it's about the same minus the sales tax. we have the rain, which I don't mind at all. Don't miss it at all.

yeah, it might be wise not to bring up her children on the forum(unless Linda herself makes a statement) .. that's a very sensitive issue with parents..and yes, out of respect.. we don't know who has access to the forum.. her kids, Linda or her family and I'd hate for any of them to be hurt or offended. just sayin

Don't want to give out my source. He knew his birth parents long before his 18th birthday. Linda said long ago it was an open adoption. I am sure that meant Carlos knew his birth parents early on. I don't know how any child could be luckier than to have a situation like that and then to have the adoptive mother be Linda Ronstadt. What more could one ask for? (speaking for myself) Even now I wish she would adopt me and I know my 92 year old mom wouldn't mind a bit especially since she had to hear about Linda Ronstadt from me since I was 13 years old! ha She still asks me about Linda. I told her I got my liberal tendencies from Linda as my birth mom is a Republican wolf (but a very nice wolf).

Don't miss it at all. I was up in Colorado in '95 for work and housing/apartment prices at that time were pretty high - $800-2400 a month, depending on the location, and I thought there was no way prices would ever get that high where I lived but they did. I asked someone who was living in Colorado at the time working in a store how much their job paid per hour, which was only $5 an hour and asked how they managed the rent. They lived with three other people. They couldn't afford to rent alone on what they were making. This is to me why it's so ridiculous that the wages in the job market aren't keeping up with the cost of living and why we don't need a minimum hourly wage but a livable wage. Of course, the free maket will take care of all Republicans won't have any of that. They don't understand the free market includes everyone and doesn't favor one side over another. It is class warfare but of course, they accuse everyone else of doing it while proclaiming their innocence.

Who would post that, which could indeed be very sensitive? I saw the reference dated back to 1997 for the original information but the more recent information wasn't referenced at all. In retrospect, I wish I hadn't brought it up here for the reasons you mention but did think the wikipedia entry was a potentially distressing bit of news and didn't know if anyone else had seen, heard or read about the matter. Sorry everyone.

For the record, Carlos is still at home with Linda, he met his birth family earlier this year. His girlfriend is going away to college soon and he will be leaving home to be with HER, not to leave Linda. I try not to blab what I've learned online but this BS is just tooo much for me to be quiet!!!!!! GRRRRRR!!!!! Oh, and he got a tattoo earlier this year with his birth AND adopted surnames! I'm not even going to look at that stupid wikipedia, let alone edit it. Sorry if I've said too much.... The mods or I'll delete it if they wish

Philly, it is always good to set the record straight. I don't think we should be afraid of the truth or bothered by it (in general I mean).

The Clinton Street Theater will show “Wonderland,” a 1977 documentary about Warren Zevon, Linda Ronstadt, Bonnie Raitt and Jackson Browne, on Friday and Saturday nights at 9:30. And on Saturday and Sunday, you can see a documentary called “The Manson Family.”

Linda In Wonderland ronstadt.proboards.com/thread/401/linda-wonderlandThe below videos were removed from youtube but I did find this interesting video mix of Linda's excerpt in that film with her song Someone To Lay Down Beside Me. If you scroll further down Linda's part in the film is still working thanks to Alan the Cornish Pirate as well as a link to the thread he created in the forum: ronstadt.proboards.com/thread/401 It creeps me out to think that Linda and the Manson Family may have crossed paths in the early days.
