Don't think it's Norton. Reading all the threads as well as hearing some stories from people who worked with her in the 70's there was only one man who had her heart and she has kept his identity secret all these years. Tom Jones recently revealed a long term relationship he had which no one knew about and maybe Linda will one day reveal who this mystery man is. I agree with the person who said that if this man is not in the public eye his identity should not be revealed.

On this show, Eddie Bravo Radio 26: Richard Norton (07/28/2013) He briefly mentions Linda at 1:32 and 1:35 @ 1:54 he mentions how he worked for John Belushi after meeting him backstage at SNL when he was there with Linda.... @ 1:55 he virtually admits he dated Linda. He says he's not going to write a kiss and tell book but said he's close to finishing a book about what he's learned working with people at the top of their game...I can't find any books by him so I guess it's still not finished @ 3:11 he says hardly a week went by without Linda seeking a vocal coach to teach her a new note @ 3:16 he talks about interacting with a Mariachi bandmember

As they say in the Boston Mass area Richard seems to be "good shit." In other words a good guy. Down to Earth. Glad he isn't the kiss and tell type as it doesn't serve any purpose.

Reading through all the threads don't think it's her body guard. He is described by a couple of people who saw them together as a business man, suit and tie kind of guy. So think the mystery of her one true love remains just that.

I remember when Linda was about 40-43 years old, there was a tidbit in People Magazine that Linda was going to be marrying a musician. It was a part of the magazine that had news on various celebrities on 1 page or less.

Here's some Luv for Mamacitaaahh!! Please support my submission for My funny Valentine!!! Blessings:) THIS> "@ 3:11 he says hardly a week went by without Linda seeking a vocal coach to teach her a new note"
I find Hilarious!!! But, she was understood to have coached with Judy Davis, who I studied with, up in Claremont, outside of Oakland
"a new note"?
She always had the same notes!!!...I guess her technique changed after 1980 a tad, but "seeking" "weekly" sounds whack

I am trying to figure out when(or even if) Linda dated Jackson Browne. I see info in several books, but no real confirmation ever. Brown was married from 71-76 to Phyllis Major. If it was in the mid 70's, it would have to be after JD Souther (71-72?) Lowell George (73), and before Albert Brooks (76-77). They knew each other starting way back in the 60's, so I wonder if it way before JD Souther anyway. Was Rick Norton around 1976 too? Just wondering if someone has info.

I think it was around the time of the song (or just before) when he wrote Ready or Not. I think that song is in part about Linda, and possibly in part about his new wife. Others might argue this point but that is what I believe. Around that time Linda was quoted as saying she needed a washing machine (in the song) and listen to the last line of that song for a clue

I have carefully read the posts on the sightings of Linda and this mystery man and if those sightings are to be believed and I see no reason to not believe them than this Neil Diamond look alike named Rick may well be Linda's one true love. What I conclude from these sightings is that Rick is a business man and not part of the entertainment industry. I remember reading an article that said Linda liked men in suits and this Rick seems to fit the profile. Can also understand her wanting to keep this love under wraps if in fact he is her one true love. I'm sure most of us have had a love or lover we would not want made public. There was one post that stated they knew who this Rick was but I agree with the sentiment that unless he is a public figure his identity should be kept private. So much of her dating was just fodder for the tabloids that it would be nice to think that Linda did have a real true love in her life and she has been able to keep him unknown all these years. Hopefully, if he is still alive, he can bring her some comfort as she battles her illness.

EDB & Gabby are correct. It is not Richard Norton. I went to see Linda this past December in Las Vegas. She was being interviewed by Ray Suarez as part of the UNLV Lecture Series. After the interview as she was leaving the "stage" I saw a man moving to the side to meet her. To say that she was shocked is to put it mildly. I was nearby and distinctly heard her say "Rick, I can't believe your here." He put his arms around her and they kissed. Linda had her arms around his neck and I can tell you it was the kind of kiss the happens between lovers not friends. He called her "L" not Linda. He said something to her which I couldn't hear and than he touched her face. He was a good looking, classy man about 70 with grey hair. Well dressed. As Linda was a bit unsteady on her feet he put his arm around her waist and walked her towards a backstage area. There was a great deal of tenderness between the two of them. I am so happy for her.

I think the reason we have never heard of Rick from Linda (and never will) is that he was married.

I think the reason we have never heard of Rick from Linda (and never will) is that he was married. I am not so sure of that. Her fling with Lowell George appeared to end quickly once she found out he lied to her by saying he was single. She was quite embarrassed by that although they did remain friends. Could be Rick married after their fling but they stayed friends. Or Rick is a priest lol. Funny thing is to many people "sex is sex" and fairly meaningless and just momentary release and enjoyment with no strings but to others, especially if there is a spouse it can be the crime of the century. In that culture (entertainment) I think Angie Dickenson had the best attitude about sex and relationships. Maybe because she was a liberated sexpot lol. The most dangerous adversary of sex is love. Then all bets are off. And that is when things can get complicated.
MJ didn't say if Rick looked like Neil Diamond or not. That fact along with his name and her reaction would be somewhat confirming. I love a good mystery.
