It was when “Long, Long Time” was a hit, before the Megastar days. We were so smitten. She was wearing hot pants and that shoulder less shirt you often see in early photos. She had a crack band with her, too. We just did the star-struck..”Hi. We loved your show,”
A few years later, “That’ll Be the Day” phase, I went to see her at Essex Community College, in Baltimore. We were having a blizzard. After the concert, in knee deep snow, I trudged around to the stage door. I tried the door handle and it was locked! I tried it a second time and it opened. At that moment Linda Ronstadt slid her arm under my arm and asked me if I would walk her to the bus. She was wearing a BIG furry hooded coat. When we got there, she kissed me on the cheek and thanked me…….she was so sweet.
These thing happen to me.
My best friend, Mike Fitchett (Read blog article on him!), had run around the building in the opposite direction and wiped out into a freezing fountain that he couldn’t see because snow was sitting on top of the water. Oy! he was soaked and freezing and totally pissed for not meeting Linda Ronstadt…HAHA!
