From the Special Edition version of the film, many have considered the extended version of the scene where One Night is in Flatbed moving the rig, singing "Willin'" by Linda Ronstadt with Bud and Hippy joining her just shortly before Lindsey arrives as a pretty awesome.

Soundtrack Q & A
Q: I just watched this movie for the first time in a while... there was a part where the Riggs crew were singing some song started by the lady piloting the tow sub, dark night or midnight. I like the song but can't find who it is or what it is named. (from rob in roanoke va usa)
A: Hi Rob. The answer to your question is "Willin'" by Linda Ronstadt. (thanks to KB, Maine)
Awesome Music: Arguably the best score ever written for a James Cameron movie, Alan Silvestri's stunning orchestra/synthesiser/choral music is widely considered among his best work.
Linda Ronstadt's gorgeous cover of "Willin'" also makes an appearance during a workaday scene.

Then again, some of the greatest strengths of The Abyss in either cut are mundane. That’s especially true of the Special Edition. Here, the supporting cast has more room to come to life, and the crew of the Deep Core resembles a family bonded by their difficult situation. Two characters in particular benefit from the added time: Hippy (Todd Graff), a conspiracy theorist with a pet rat, and One Night (Kimberly Scott), a crew member whose protectiveness of Bud, and lack of fondness for Lindsey, gets more screen time here. In fact, with one major exception, most of the Special Edition’s additions come in the form of small moments here and there that add shape and shading: The crew singing along to a Linda Ronstadt song, Bud recounting how he ended up married to Lindsey in the first place, exchanges that capture the mounting tension between Bud and Coffey, while doubling as demonstrations of how deeply Bud cares about his crew.

Having never seen The Abyss, I was surprised and pleased to hear Linda's "Willin'" featured so prominently in it.
In a rather extended sequence, the song is playing over the com system and several of the characters sing enthusiastically along with her. Later, the song starts up again and the villain smashes the sound system!
