"We live in a free market society where you can sell anything to anyone and say anything about what it is you are selling without little oversight. That means we have a personal responsibility of what we are putting in our mouth."
Politically speaking our politicians are lobbied by special interests in the food and drug industry to stop any oversight and regulations on them even if those regulations are meant to save our health and in the long run, our lives. And we all know which party, which politicians and which media is dead set against regulations. That same party is also dead set against providing health care for its citizens to help those who become poisoned by their collusion with special interests.
Seems to me we are screwed unless those at every step in the food chain act in an ethical and responsible way which we all know won't happen unless someone who IS ethical (or it is their job to be ethical) is there to oversee the process via regulations.
No wonder so many are sick with chronic or terminal illness. RepubliConservatism KILLS.
