FLASHBACK: STONE PONEYS LAST STAND
8 May 1968 Palo Verde Gym, Tucson, Arizona - Linda Ronstadt and the Stone Poneys, People & The Cage Carnier 7.30 PM Tickets: $2.25, $3.00 and $3.75
This was the last concert with the original members of The Stone Poneys.
The above poster was given to me by Linda's mom, Ruthmary Ronstadt. The poster is modeled after one of my favorite Ronstadt/Poneys singles cover sleeves ....High Muddy Water.
From that night:
Their next gig after Phoenix was in Tucson and that would be their last one as a group. They split up. I believe Kenny Edwards was the first to leave. Even so the group did continue for a short while and then Linda was forced to become a solo act. She did however have a couple of "bands" back her up afterwards i.e. The Corvettes, Swampwater and for a short stint the "nameless" Eagles.
