This is the one Ronstadt song that gets me all the time. As a cat rescue-sanctuary-tnr guy I found your tribute very touching. Mr. Nick reminds me of my buddy Calvin whom I just lost. I once read a question from a little girl to her mother on losing their cat to death "mommy, why don't cats live longer than they do?" and her wise mom answered "because someone who loves them will always be around to care for them when they die." Many people avoid getting another pet after losing one because of the pain of grief but there are so many living on the streets, abandoned or worse that need a home right away that we shouldn't hesitate to help them.

@ronstadtfanaz thank you for your comment. you are right that our love and compassion for animals should be passed on to those animals in need.

@mooderclan Hey mooderclan. Wonder if you knew that this song, written by Karla Bonoff (Linda's friend) was about her cat? Karla lived in the Hollywood hills and one of her roommates must have left the door open to the house one day and her cat ran outside never to be seen again. Lots of coyotes in the area. So this heartfelt song was written for her cat "Tex." Funny how before that was widely known people automatically gravitated to it and began using the song for tributes to their cats and other pets here on youtube.
