I realized how old I was on that very day walking those many miles. While Linda got into a nice SUV at the end of the march (after the mini-concert) I had to walk back to the Phoenix park to our car when at the halfway point a truckload of friendly immigrants honked at us (my Mex-Am buddy and me), pulled over and motioned for us to jump on for a ride back to the park. That made as much of an impression (positive) on me as the march itself. There is something so wonderful about having Mexican immigrants in our community. I just love them, their generousity and cheerfulness even in difficult times. And sadly, so many of them have left our state. We did manage to get rid of Russell Pearce who takes credit for SB1070 but in truth it was written by ALEC (a right wing corporate group of hacks) www.alecexposed.org/wiki/ALEC_Exposed Hopefully our wicked witch of a governor will be the next to be ousted along with her majority party who has done so much to harm our state.
A few of the photos I took that day:
