The always informative Bizzy Boys at Celebrity Address Aerial sent word that Linda Ronstadt has sold her long-time home in the historic Colonia Solana neighborhood in central Tucson, Ariz., for exactly $1 million. The sale price is nowhere near the rose-tinted $1.6 million original asking price but is substantially above the $467,000 the sublimely talented 11-time Grammy-winner paid for the nearly 1.3-acre estate in late 1994.

The 4,100-square-foot, pale-pink-stucco Mediterranean dates to the late 1920s. Though updated and upgraded throughout, it retains handsome and carefully preserved original architectural details such as colorful tilework and door hardware of hand-forged iron. The main house has four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms — three upstairs and one tucked behind the kitchen — plus a 600-square-foot, studio-style guest cottage with a bathroom and fireplace.

Formal living and dining rooms, furnished with eclectic collectibles and Ronstadt family heirlooms, both have wood beams on high ceilings, while a small study has a tile-accented fireplace, original terracotta-tile floors, and French doors leading to a brick-floored sunroom. A vintage-inspired but thoroughly up-to-date kitchen adjoins a breakfast room set into a wide bay window, and floor plans show a dedicated crafts room in the partial basement. Ronstadt’s master bedroom, painted a girlish pink, features a fireplace with a gingerbread-trimmed mantelpiece, a walk-in closet lined with built-ins, and a vintage-tiled bathroom.
The walled and gated property includes tree-shaded brick patios and a swimming pool surrounded by pleasantly haphazard but attentively cared for gardens.
The genre-crossing singer, who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014, is 70, and grapples with Parkinson’s disease. In order to be closer to family, she relocated to San Francisco, where she paid just under $2 million in 2009 for a shingled Dutch Gambrel cottage in the frequently fog-shrouded Sea Cliff neighborhood.
