We will always and very strongly protect patients with pre-existing conditions. And that is a pledge from the entire Republican Party.
A popular provision of the Affordable Care Act ensures that people with preexisting conditions can get health insurance. Trump administration officials are arguing in court that the ACA should be struck down as unconstitutional. But they also claim this part of the law would somehow be preserved. It’s unclear how. The administration has not come out with a health plan that would replace the ACA if the Supreme Court strikes it down. President Trump has said he will sign an executive order requiring health insurance companies to cover patients with preexisting conditions, but he hasn’t done it yet — and it’s not clear he means “at no additional charge.” www.npr.org/2020/06/26/883819835/obamacare-must-fall-trump-administration-tells-supreme-court www.politico.com/news/2020/08/10/trump-executive-order-on-pre-existing-393312
