Looks like we're having a bit of a slow spell so I'll ask something about Linda that has kinda bugged me for a while: I've seen pictures of her carrying a violin, I've also seen pictures of her supposedly playing same. I have however, never seen any film or video of her actually playing the instrument nor have I , to my knowledge, seen or heard of her getting musician credit for playing the fiddle. I'm guessing that given her perfect pitch and general musicianship, she would have been a natural. It also, from the pictures, seems she got into and out of the instrument quite early in her career. Can anyone shed some light on this?

I've always been curious about that myself. It would be a good question to ask her at her next appearance--if anyone is able. I've seen some pics of her playing violin on stage, but in today's search only found this new one: View AttachmentI also found a site with some photos of Linda that I haven't seen before, but she wasn't playing violin: Linda Ronstadt at Paul's Mall 1970My ex-husband played guitar really well. One day someone gave him a violin, and by the end of the day he was playing it quite nicely. It was the same when his dad bought a banjo, and the same with a mandolin. He just had the "craft" for any stringed instrument really. Maybe Linda was like that too.

All I can add, Moe, is that Linda played fiddle on "Lightning Bar Blues" which was released on disc 4 of the Box Set.

As I understand it (and there are a few more pics of her playing fiddle in her memoir), I think she started doing some fiddle work when she got Swampwater to back her up in 1970 and early 1971, this in-between the Corvettes and what would later become the Eagles. Swampwater were a Cajun-style rock band; and one of the members was Floyd "Gib" Guilbeau, an authentic Cajun fiddle player. Linda was so into that style that she wanted to get into doing some fiddle as well.

I guess I never noticed that on the credits of the Box Set. That is a great song for her to do fiddle. I know Linda has a guitar credit on Simple Dreams (I think Old Paint or I Never Will Marry). She had tambourine credit/s (I think on a few songs). She has hand claps credits on "That'll Be the Day" and "whistling" credit on Aaron's "Everybody Plays the Fool." eddiejinfl Hey Belle How ya been? Thanks so much for posting link. I noticed Linda seemed to be chilled in some of the pics lol
