RNC votes to install Donald Trump's handpicked chair as former president tightens control of party
This is so bizarre and is a lesson in how the American political system is flawed to allow this tyranny of the minority. Too many similarities to the rise of the Third Reich which I don't think is a coincidence as Trump's first wife said he studied and was a devotee of that 1933 German Chancellor. I find it amazing how he has managed to have an entire political party and its leadership fall into line.
Trump is a malignant narcissist and his followers suffer from a psychological condition called "collective or group narcissism. " Malignant narcissistic behaviors tend to include: vindictiveness, aggression and paranoia. Collective narcissism can sometimes be characterized by harmful actions, like: inflammatory attacks, unfounded accusations or scapegoating, lies, hateful rhetoric, smear campaigns, character assassination attempts, black/white thinking. Collective narcissism can cause an environment of hatred targeting other groups. It creates a preference for: military aggression, right-wing authoritarianism, blind patriotism. It may only take one person with narcissistic traits or narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) in an influential position to change the groups dynamic. That person with narcissistic behaviors can appear empathetic and committed to goals within a group. They may even pick a noble cause to champion as a way of maintaining an altruistic image. Maintaining this persona in a group setting ensures the compliance of others and can eventually morph the group into a narcissistic extension. As the ideology of the groups platform becomes mired in self-importance, grandiosity, its objectives become a means to acquire greater power
