There are many potassium supplements out there but try getting potassium from your diet rather than supplements.
Here is a link to a potassium supplement I have used: amzn.to/3r6DxIh

@patriotclint395 1 month ago Older people taking potassium supplements can overdose on it. My father passed away from hyperkalemia in 2006. He was taking diuretics and potassium per the doctor's prescription after having a lung removed. It was to reduce the risk of water build-up around his heart caused by the surgery. What the doctor did not take into account was that he had a history of too much potassium in his blood. So, after a few days, he began to show symptoms of hyperkalemia. The symptoms are very similar to hypokalemia with one major difference; numbness and paralysis in his feet and lower legs. Unfortunately, he and I did not know much about it, so when he told me his symptoms, I told him he needs to see the doctor about it. But had self-diagnosed himself as experiencing hypokalemia, so he stopped taking the diuretics and continued the potassium. Within 3 days, his heart began to flutter. He called 911 but his heart stopped while on the phone. So, please add this warning to your video describing how to avoid overdosing on potassium, especially for older people.
@paulaspagnuolo8285 @paulaspagnuolo8285 4 weeks ago Sorry for your loss but stopping the diuretics with a heart problem was very shortsighted. Not sure why you’d think that it was the potassium specifically at fault. That said even too much water can kill you so yes people should pay close attention to what they are doing and err on the side of caution.

@bobtan9321 @bobtan9321 3 weeks ago No one mention if your father suffer from kidney disease. If so, there may be a built up of potassium as the kidney may be unable to fitler it out. The diuertic help release potassium peventing build-up, a lethal condition. .

@jeffrygreene2363 @jeffrygreene2363 2 weeks ago Interesting because the highest supplements of potassium are around 100mg and our daily requirement is around 4700mg..would be hard to overdose on supplements..Generally taking potassium supplements is a waste of time because you would have to take so many
@heartfeltgesture 2 weeks ago @jeffrygreene2363 You can safely take grams of potassium if it is in the bicarbonate form.
@therealjohnertel 11 days ago Just to be clear it has nothing to do with being old... it has to do with being healthy. Healthy people can clear potassium out of their system. People with bad health taking certain medicines or with kidney dysfunction in particular are prone to potassium overdose due to their systems not clearing / utilizing the potassium quickly enough causing buildup. It's only with buildup that there's a problem, but that is not due to being old in any way other than older people tend to have more compromised health issues and kidney issues.
