In this video, i talk about some natural blood thinners like Garlic, Ginger, Nattokwinase, Hawthorn, Motherwort etc and why i would not recommend them as an alternative to warfarin or the NOACs in patients with Afib

@marceasusanna7749 1 year ago (edited) I had a TIA, blood clot that hit my speech center, two years ago and at the time I had been on Eliquis for five years because of AFib. I was also on metropolol for heart rhythm regulation. I was eating right low carb no sugar intermittent fasting still had a mini stroke. Although my doctor said all Strokes are as serious as all other stroke and I agree with that.
Hello dear dr.Sanjay. Little reminder for everyone - the best blood thinners are papain ( papaya), bromelain ( pine apple), nattokinase. Fruits ( on an empty stomach) and ginger are good for those who has no problems with the oesophagus/ stomach/duodenum
I could not agree more! After an earlier pulmonary embolism at 80 years, my doctor advised me to change from warfarin to aspirin despite my misgivings, this nearly killed me within a year when I came down unconscious in a public place and had to be promptly treated with heparin, etc. Have now been on Pradaxa for about 10 years without problems.
Thanks for the information - my spouse takes Eliquis because she is Afib. I take aspirin because I had a stroke from which I recovered completely. Eliquis is really expensive even though it's been on the market long enough to face a generic competitor. The primary manufacturer bought the generic competitor out so now we are faced with entering the coverage gap indefinitely on. Medicare Part D. I understand your point but am still paying thousands per year because the manufacturer is preventing generic competition.
steve harris Excellent and detailed info on this subject. It took approximately 10 minutes to explain this in fairly simple terms thank-you. You make an excellent teacher/professor. I'm currently taking low dose aspirin(81mg) and Clopidogrel (75mg) once daily as recommended by my doctor. I haven't had any issues to this point but is this combination considered overkill or not?
Steve Harris : Really ? No side effects from Clopidogrel aka Plavix..? No random bruises, no tinnitus, dizziness..? Scary product. I regret having stents, & being prescribed Big Selling Clopidogrel.
Guess I've been lucky so far. I don't necessarily trust big pharma or for that matter most doctors either but 8 months in and so far so good(touching wood;) I did have some nasty shortness of breath experiences with Brilinta though before I switched over. Nasty stuff.
Hi doc I'm 57 and I have afib first attack was 3 years ago I had 2 more within a year after being in hospital for 5 days every test all they said was I had lil bit low mag levels not to bad I was put on Xelralto took it for 5 months it made me feel bad and they found blood In my urine then I needed dental work done so doc took me off for the time being with in a day or 2 I was feeling like my old self again so after dental work I disided not to take it any more I went another year without any problems last week out of the blue I went into afib again 2 hours in ER a shot and I was back to normal rythem doc says he wants me back on the Blood thinners I did the chadvas test I scored 0 and I'm thinking on trying something natural like Nattokwinase, I take omega 3's I eat pretty healthy I'm a little heavy but trying to lose it I worried about taking something that makes me feel so bad but don't want a stroke do you have any advice for me thank you for ur time
all the nutritionist say that cayenne and garlic great at breaking up clots and it kept me off the table when I was younger---cleared my arteries out ---I went form in my thirties with blockage ---took cayenne ---did test again ---doctor said I would live a long time --very little calcium present---this was done in my mid 50s ---later I backed off cayenne trouble started ---went back on it ---saved my ass
My mum tried papaya, bromelain and nattokinase ( she can't take ginger, garlic ect. cause they start an arrhythmia). Papaya is milder then bromelain, but it has no side effects at all!
I’d rather not take aspirin because I already have chronic gastritis, but my MD told me to take it daily to prevent another stroke. I feel backed into the corner.
This is unfortunate news for me, as I need to begin an anti-cancer regimen and most of the key herbs and foods such as turmeric, garlic, ginger and others can/should not be taken with blood thinners. Earthing mats also interact with pharmaceutical blood thinners. I have continuous afib, but need to be on an aggressive anti-cancer regimen.
Look into medical mushrooms like the Turkey tail, chaga, reishi, etc.
Although I love your videos and your point of view, thiw one made me very skeptical because the fact that only pharmaceuticals have the funds to support studies on anticoagulation must be used as a justification for using only their products for this reason. There should be courageous doctors who would support financially such studies as regards natural anticoagulants which have no side effects when the commonly suggested by doctors have plenty that make the quality of life worse for those using them. Those who have no side effects are because they have ruined their bodies with bad lifestyle, bad diet etc in such a degree that they are not in touch with their bodies any longer and they don't feel how the medication is making them ill and working inside them harming their organs etc. You should say something also about the studies that refer to thousand dying from anticoagulation side effects.!
Although a believer in natures healing power I would not trust natural foods to ensure me against stroke regarding AFib. I take a blood thinner daily, mine is xarelto. I wish I didn't have AFib and have to worry about the high risk of stroke. But it is what it is. So far I haven't had any negative side effects that I am aware of. Even had a tooth pulled without having to stop taking it. AFib is a unique condition which has high stroke risk when paired with co-morbidities. I have high blood pressure and am 66 years old. Also a cancer survivor, so I would not risk stopping taking xarelto in favor of natural blood-thinners.
I agree with you that there should be studies on natural blood thinners. Prior to surgeries doctors advise their patients not take garlic or vitamin E for a week prior because it thins the blood. There are so many supplements that thin the blood and some that dissolve clots yet no large scale studies are done, perhaps because big pharma can’t make a profit from them.
I am aware of garlic, vitamin E, lubrokinase, serrapeptase, ginko biloba, enjymes and many others that have blood thinning properties and I use some of them systemically. My mom had a surgery once, she had permanent afib but didn't take any antigoagulants, I told the cardiologist doc who did the presurgery tests that she was taking those supplements but he was not aware of that and said o.k, then the day of the surgery the surgeon came out exhausted and said what was she taking she is bleeding, she managed to get well after that, so I have the proof that those work, she died 91, but no stroke in between.
Doctor Sunjay Gupta has a video where he explains that afib is not a factor causing clots by its own, as it is not included in the CHADS VASC score, high blood pressure is a serious factor for clotting, so if you have not any of those factors that are mentioned in Chads vasc score, don't worry, I , myself have paroxysmal afib and take only natural blood thinners and I look and feel better than those that are 20 years younger than me, exercise, have a low carb diet, NO SUGAR, no alcohol, no coffee, limit emf, intermitted fasting, and don't worry, all will be fine.
@dinakostarelou5999 Glad for you dear, your are not a anticoagulation candidate with 1 in CHADS... score, I am very angry with those docs that are scaring people with the stroke threat, mine, the initial one did exactly the same, today I read an article from dr, Mercola about how the Japenese people are using fobrinolytic enjymes for many years now while we in the west are using those dangerous pharmaceuticals instead, if you want more details you can find me in facebook or twitter, it is Easter for us in Greece tomorrow, so I am going to greet you now wishing all the best.
Read on this channel, of the dangers, especially of withdrawal from use. Good luck, get better. Cheers
I have constant Atrial fib. Barely noticable to me. I was on warfarin for many years and got by fairly good but eventually was a constant battle moving dose up or down to have right blood so was put on Riveraxiban 20 dose per day. Have no more issues no constant testing. VA furnishes my drugs at very low cost like 8 dollar a prescription monthly
I'm sorry, nothing against you, but I don't trust Drs not working for big pharma. I would try one of the medications if the list of symptoms wasn't so long! Warfarin was too complicated for me to take since I had to be in continual contact with a medical professional. (This was when I had knee surgery) A-fib concern. I think I'll take my chances with ginger, turmeric & low dose aspirin. Thank you for your information, sir.
