The bulk of the immigrants coming to America are from countries like Cuba and Venezuela where the US MUST accept them for political reasons. it is extremely challenging for the U.S. to expel migrants from those countries under a pandemic-era rule known as Title 42, which U.S. officials invoke to deny a chance at seeking asylum on grounds of preventing the spread of COVID-19. U.S. relations with all three countries are deeply strained, making it difficult to impossible to send them home.
word has filtered down to Venezuelans that the United States “has to take them,” and that is driving the surge all along the Southwest border. www.borderreport.com/immigration/venezuelan-migration-to-u-s-will-keep-climbing-experts-say/
