Trump Supporter Tells Daughters Groping 'Is No Big Deal' Live On MSNBCHuffPost David Moye,HuffPost•September 26, 2018
As Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh deals with a growing number of sexual misconduct allegations, some parents are using the situation to teach valuable life lessons.
Hopefully, not too many want to impart the lesson being taught by a mother in Bozeman, Montana: Groping is no big deal.
The unidentified woman made a point of telling her two teen daughters this during a live interview Tuesday on MSNBC.

“Groping a woman? At 18?” she said, before asking her daughters, “I mean, how many guys do you know who think that’s no big deal?”
After the two girls nodded in agreement, the mother reiterated, “It’s not a big deal.”

Someone needs to tell right wing conservative media (FOX & Minions) who have been preaching 24/7 for over 4 decades that Liberals and Progressives are the enemy that they themselves are the cause for today's chaos. Might want to mention it to Trump and the GOP leadership as well who seem to be prepped to begin a civil war.

Man Threatened To Kill Democrats and ‘Weak Republicans’ Over Kavanaugh Nomination
James Royal Patrick Jr. of Florida said he’d shoot members of Congress if the Supreme Court nominee was voted down. By Elyse Wanshel
In Polk County, Florida, words matter and can put you behind bars with a felony charge.
James Royal Patrick Jr. of Winter Haven was arrested Wednesday after he posted a series of disturbing Facebook messages that threatened to kill members of Congress — and their families — if Judge Brett Kavanaugh wasn’t confirmed to the Supreme Court, Polk County deputies said.
The 53-year-old was charged with one count of written threats to kill or injure, per the Orlando Sentinel. He is being held in the Polk County Jail on a $500,000 bond.
Patrick posted a series of public Facebook messages in late September, complete with photos of guns and ammunition, threatening to target congressional Democrats and “weak Republicans” if Kavanaugh’s confirmation failed, as well as any law enforcement officers “that tried to interfere or come to his house,” Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said during a press conference on Thursday afternoon.
Patrick boasted about buying weapons and ammunition, said he was “willing to kill and ready to die” for his cause and claimed to be making arrangement to sell his home “to fund my plan to kill Democrat office holders and their families,” according to authorities.
“Getting ready if Kav is not confirmed,” Patrick wrote in one post. “Whoever I think is to blame, God have mercy on their soul.”
According to Judd, Patrick wrote that he would wake up in the middle of the night with these violent thoughts and he tried to rally others to join him.
“I can’t do this by myself, I need more conservatives going into liberal homes at night killing them in their sleep,” Patrick said.
Polk County deputies received a tip alerting them to his posts on Wednesday morning and within five hours obtained and executed a warrant on Patrick’s home, the sheriff said. FBI agents from a joint terrorism task force worked with local authorities, according to Judd. A .308-caliber hunting rifle, a Desert Eagle handgun and ammunition for both weapons were found in Patrick’s home.
When he was arrested, Patrick said he didn’t think he would get in trouble because he never specifically named any individuals in his threats, according to the sheriff. He also said he “didn’t intend to hurt anyone” despite having a rifle in his home that Judd said “is certainly a common deer rifle ― it’s also a common sniper rifle.”
Patrick’s threats focused on the polarizing nomination of Brett Kavanaugh. Many conservatives have backed the Supreme Court nominee because they believe he will overturn Roe v. Wade, the landmark abortion rights decision. In September, Dr. Christine Blasey Ford came forward with sexual assault allegations against Kavanaugh. He denied her accusations, as well as allegations of sexual misconduct from two other women.
Last week, Ford and Kavanaugh testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee, fanning flames on both sides of the political spectrum. After the hearing, Republicans postponed a full Senate vote to give the FBI time to investigate Ford’s claim. The FBI investigation was finished on Wednesday. On Friday, senators voted to end debate on Kavanaugh; a final vote on his confirmation is expected Saturday.
“People need to calm down and chill out,” Judd said during his press conference, referring to both conservatives and liberals, before returning to Patrick’s alleged misdeeds.
“When you threaten people — not just congressmen, not just law enforcement officers — when you threaten to kill, we’re going to lock you up.” the sheriff said. “This is serious. Words matter.”

Trump supporters on #MeToo: 'Women should button their blouses, cross their legs, and quit acting like they want something'Yahoo Lifestyle Elise Solé,Yahoo Lifestyle 12 hours ago President Trump speaks to supporters at a rally. (Photo: Getty Images)
President Trump joked about the #MeToo movement at a Pennsylvania rally on Wednesday, and his supporters called recent sexual assault allegations “ridiculous.”
During the rally in Erie, the president called the sexual assault claims against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh “false” and a “disgrace” while joking about the “rules” of #MeToo. While alluding to Pennsylvania as a tough territory for Republicans, reports Newsweek, Trump said, “I would use an expression — you know, there’s an expression, but under the rules of #MeToo, I’m not allowed to use that expression anymore. I can’t do it. It’s ‘the person that got away.’ See, in the old days it was a little different.
“So there is an expression, but we’ll change the expression,” he said. “Pennsylvania was always the person that got away. That’s pretty good, right?” (Trump could have been hinting at the phrase “the girl who got away.”)
Emma Vigeland, a correspondent for The Young Turks web series, attended the rally and interviewed Trump fans about #HimToo, a hashtag that is meant to defend men falsely accused of sexual harassment, but actually disparages victims and inadvertently misrepresents the frequency of false claims. Last week, #HimToo gained traction when a mom tweeted a photo of her son, complaining that he can no longer date due to “the climate of false sexual allegations by radical feminists with an axe to grind.” (The son has since tweeted that that was untrue, writing “I respect and #BelieveWomen. I never have and never will support #HimToo.”)
Trump Supporters Say Women Are To Blame, Back #HimToo
In the video series “Rebel Headquarters” posted Thursday by The Young Turks, when Vigeland asks two women wearing Make America Great Again hats for their take on #HimToo, one says, “Absolutely. I have four sons, and I have five brothers, so I want our men protected.”
Another woman wearing a “Trump 2016” T-shirt told Vigeland, “My opinion? If I went to a party and I was raped, I wouldn’t go back 10 more times,” naming Kavanaugh accuser Christine Blasey Ford, although it was accuser Julie Swetnick who claimed she attended “well over 10” parties with Kavanaugh during which he allegedly spiked women’s drinks and forcibly touched them.
“Too many men are in jail for false accusations,” she said, later adding that rape allegations are one method to exact “revenge” on another person.
One male Trump fan dismissed #MeToo as a “total leftist thing,” saying, “… There are some [women] that are paid, other ones I’m sure they’ve been abused … but still, it’s just a thing that Democrats want to do and say.”
Another woman told Vigeland, “I’ve said it for a long time: Women should button their blouse, cross their legs, and quit acting like they want something. And then they won’t get it. It’s ridiculous.”
Vigeland also asked a woman who called the Kavanaugh claims a “hoax,” about sexual misconduct allegations against President Trump. She answers, “You don’t know what’s real and what’s not, and I don’t really care. Anything that guy did before he was president was his business.”
“Why did they wait so long?” asked one man. When Vigeland explains that women are often too traumatized to report their assailants, the man says, “All they’re doing is kidding themselves. They’re not traumatized. … If anything, she should have done like Monica Lewinsky and saved the dress.”

While reporters were present, West delivered a long speech on a range of topics, including racism, liberalism, the universe, and more.Kanye West Is Officially Making His Own MAGA Hats—Photos Diana Bruk,Best Life Fri, Oct 12 1:12 PM MST .On Thursday, Kanye West joined Donald Trump for a working lunch, thereby seemingly cementing the fact that his support and admiration for the president is sincere and not the result of an elaborate PR stunt, as many of his fans speculated.
They ate roasted chicken and Caprese salad and discussed prison reform and the Music Modernization Act, which the White House has previously described as a push to “close loopholes in our digital royalty laws to ensure that songwriters, artists, producers, and providers receive fair payment for the licensing of music.”
Kanye being Kanye, he also went on a somewhat bizarre rant that included mental health, the 13th Amendment, and a hydrogen plane that he wants Apple to make for Trump. It almost made Elon Musk’s marijuana-fueled musings on the end of the universe seem sensible.
But in all the hubbub over his passcode, everyone seemed to miss one other very noteworthy thing that happened: the moment he gifted Donald Trump, Ivanka Trump, and Jared Kushner custom-made MAGA-style hats. Trump’s reads, “Make America Great,” whereas Ivanka’s says, “Make Earth Great Again,” and Jared’s reads, “Travel Space Again.”
According to TMZ, West gave Trump the re-designed hat as a sign that America still needs work. He also said that he’ll start wearing the new version of the hat himself soon, and plans to create a factory in Chicago called “Larry’s” (named after Larry Hoover, the Chicago gang leader serving six life sentences for murder), where he would hire former inmates to make the hats and other merchandise.
Earlier in the rant, West also talked about what the MAGA hat, which he has repeatedly received hate for wearing, meant to him.
“They tried to scare me to not wear this hat. My own friends. But this hat, it gives me power in a way,” he said. “You know my dad and my mom separated, so I didn’t have a lot of male energy in my home. And also, I’m married to a family that, um, you know, not a lot of male energy going on…I love Hillary. I love everyone. But the campaign ‘I’m With Her’ just didn’t make me feel—as a guy that didn’t get to see his dad all the time—like a guy that could play catch with his son. It was something about when I put this hat on, it made me feel like Superman.”

CNN's Acosta: Trump's Rhetoric Plant Seeds Of Violence In His Own Supporters, In His Own Crowds Posted By Ian Schwartz On Date October 19, 2018
CNN's Jim Acosta said President Trump is planting "seeds of violence" in his supporters after the president held a rally Thursday night in Montana. Acosta said Trump's numerous references to Rep. Greg Gianforte, who assaulted a reporter last year in Montana when he was running for Congress in a special election, inspired a supporter in the crowd to do "pro wrestling moves" and gestures.
Acosta wondered if there is a "cause and effect" with Trump supporters, whether Trump's rhetoric will make them prone to violence.
"The crowd was obviously eating this stuff up, and people wonder whether or not there's a cause and effect, whether or not the president's rhetoric plants seeds of violence in his own supporters, in his own crowds," Acosta wondered.
JIM ACOSTA, CNN REPORTER: Don, also we should point out time and again the president was going after Democrats accusing them of being part of a mob, of being part of an angry mob.
I have to tell you, Don, when the president made that joke about Greg Gianforte assaulting Ben Jacobs, I looked over to the crowd. There was one gentleman, a Trump supporter in the crowd, who was doing pro wrestling moves, doing body slam type gestures in the crowd. So the crowd was obviously eating this stuff up, and people wonder whether or not there's a cause and effect, whether or not the president's rhetoric plants seeds of violence in his own supporters, in his own crowds.
I think it was pretty evident there that the crowd was loving every minute of this when the president was talking about assaulting, joking about assaulting reporters at this rally tonight.
DON LEMON, CNN HOST: An embarrassing performance tonight by the president with those jokes and people cheering him on.

Another day in the sad life of a Deplorable. Thank you President Trump and conservatism for giving us such gems of despicable behavior.Woman filmed harassing family for speaking Spanish at Virginia restaurantThe Independent Sarah Harvard,The Independent Mon, Oct 22 10:40 AM MST
Woman filmed harassing family for speaking Spanish at Virginia restaurant A woman has been filmed verbally abusing a family of Guatemalan tourists during a meal at a Virginia restaurant after hearing them speaking Spanish.
The unidentified white woman was caught on camera unleashing a racially charged and profanity-laden verbal attack at the family at Andy’s Restaurant in Lovettsville.
The victim, who asked to remain anonymous, said the woman approached the family and asked to see their passports. According to the victim, the woman said “she knew everybody in Loudon County to get us out of here.” The woman demanded the family speak English.
“How do you want them to speak English when they’re here just visiting,” the victim asked the woman in the video.
“You don’t freeload in this f****** country,” the woman shouted. “You get the f*** out, back to your f****** country.”
The police were called, but no charges were filed. In a Facebook post, Andy’s Restaurant said the woman is no longer allowed back to the establishment.
The entire confrontation lasted about 10 minutes. The victim said she is sharing this hateful experience since her 7-year-old daughter was present throughout the entire ordeal, NBC Washington reported. The victim hopes those who have experienced bias-motivated attacks and crimes also speak out about their experience.
The victim’s family said the racist attack no longer made them want to visit the United States again.
The US has a history of meddling in Guatemalan affairs. In 1954 the CIA helped direct a coup to overthrow Guatemalan President Jacobo Árbenz, who was democratically elected. The coup replaced Mr Árbenz with a military junta.
Six years later, the military dictatorship prompted a civil war that lasted nearly 40 yearws and killed hundreds of thousands of people. The regime change and the civil war led to devastating long-term impacts on the Latin American country that includes gang violence, drug crime and extreme economic consequences.

Another deplorable conservative with loose lips gets snagged.Mom with 'gut feeling' stops school shooter before planned attackYahoo Lifestyle Elise Solé,Yahoo Lifestyle 21 hours ago
A suspicious mom who followed her instincts helped prevent a mass school shooting.
On Wednesday, Koeberle Bull of Lumberton, N.J., woke up to a racist message on Facebook from a man in Kentucky. “It was really vulgar — he called my kids the N-word and hoped terrible things for them,” Bull tells Yahoo Lifestyle.
The mom of three biracial children, ages 16, 11, and 8, was especially concerned about the man’s profile picture in which he showed off a gun, so, going on a “gut feeling,” she called her local police station and filed a report. “But I felt like it wouldn’t really go anywhere, so I posted a screenshot of the message on Facebook,” she says.

The man had blocked Bull. However, her friends dug around for details about his identity, and Bull soon had enough information to share with the police in Lawrenceburg, Ky. “I spoke to Officer Josh Satterly, who told me, ‘There’s no room for this kind of hate in my world,” she says. “He took me seriously.”
Local and state police followed the mom’s tip, and on Thursday, officers drove to the home of a 20-year-old man named Dylan Jarrell, just as he was leaving his house with more than 200 rounds of ammunition, a bulletproof vest, a firearm, a 100-round high-capacity magazine, and a “detailed plan of attack.” He was headed toward two school districts in Anderson County and Shelby County, the Kentucky State Police said in a press conference Friday.
“There’s no doubt in my mind that as a result of this investigation, we saved lives,” Kentucky State Police Commissioner Rick Sanders said during the press conference. “This young man had it in his mind to go to schools and create havoc.
“He had the tools necessary, the intent necessary. And the only thing that stood between him and evil … is law enforcement,” he added.
When police searched Jarrell’s home, they found an internet search history on “How to conduct a school shooting” and a “credible and imminent threat to Shelby and Anderson County schools,” according to a press release. Police also revealed that in May, Jarrell had been questioned by the FBI regarding social media threats toward a Tennessee school.
Jarrell was charged with two counts of second-degree terroristic threatening and one count of harassing communications and is being held in the Shelby County Detention Center.
Sheila Mitchell of Anderson County Public Schools tells Yahoo Lifestyle that classes were closed on Friday due to concern for student safety. “I commend [Bull] for her courage and willingness to follow through on the threat and the collaborative efforts of local and state law enforcement. We’re very blessed and grateful.”
Bull has received grateful invitations to visit families from all over the country and says the timing of the arrest was “divine intervention.”
She also encourages people to report social media messages of concern. “That one-in-a-million call could prevent a tragedy,” Bull tells Yahoo Lifestyle. “I’m thankful everyone is OK.”

Man Arrested for Groping Woman on Flight Tells Police That Donald Trump 'Says It's OK'Glamour Julyssa Lopez,Glamour 7 hours ago
In a country where some of our leaders (and those sitting on the highest court in the land) are accused of sexual assault, we can only hope that their ability to maintain their positions doesn't embolden would-be-assailants.
Not the case for 49-year-old Bruce Michael Alexander of Tampa, Fl., who was arrested Sunday after a woman sitting in front of him on a Southwest Airlines flight accused him of fondling her breasts while she was sleeping. While he was in custody, Alexander reportedly cited Donald Trump's comments about women and told authorities that “the President of the United States says it’s ok to grab women by their private parts," as justification for his actions.
According to a criminal complaint cited by the Washington Post, the woman felt a hand reach from behind her on the flight and touch the right side of her breast near her "bra line." After she felt a second touch, she stood up and told Alexander, who was sitting behind her, that she didn't know why he thought his behavior was okay and that he needed to stop. She changed seats, and Alexander was arrested once the aircraft landed in New Mexico.
Alexander reportedly asked authorities why he was being arrested and then made the comment about the president saying it's okay "to grab women by their private parts." He was likely referring to an Access Hollywood tape that captures audio of a 2005 interview in which Trump brags to television host Billy Bush about what he feels he's entitled to do to women.
"You know, I’m automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything," Trump says in the audio.
Bush repeats, "Whatever you want," and Trump follows with what's now become his infamous pussy line: "Grab ’em by the pussy. You can do anything."
Alexander's remarks have started a discussion about the very real consequences of the president's rhetoric toward women. Some have worried that Trump's vulgar comments might embolden men to also disrespect women and repeat patterns of misogyny and harassment. That someone arrested for sexual assault can now point to the president and claim that he "says it's ok" to grab women in an inappropriate way seems to confirm the fears of many.
The Southwest incident unfolds at a time when stories of sexual assault have pervaded political news. Judge Brett Kavanaugh was confirmed to the Supreme Court, even after being accused of assaulting Christine Blasey Ford in 1982. A highly divisive and publicized hearing put Ford's story of alleged assault at the center of the national conversation.
The president himself has also been accused of harassing multiple women. He also has a long history of calling women disparaging names, referring to them as "dogs" and "pigs," and most recently called adult female star Stormy Daniels "horse face." He has also questioned women who have come forward with claims of sexual assault, mocking Ford at a rally and suggesting that sexual assault protesters are paid professionals.

Funny how the party of FREE MARKET FREE TRADE GLOBALIST & CORPORATISTS hate Soros because they say he is a globalist and a socialist. Horrible thing he does giving money away to progressive causes and social justice. It is only ok when the Koch Bros., the Mercers, Adelman, etc. do it for their right wing agenda.

New York (AFP) - The FBI on Tuesday was investigating an explosive device found in the mailbox at the New York home of US billionaire and liberal donor George Soros, a target of right-wing groups, officials confirmed.
An employee of the residence in Bedford, north of Manhattan, found the suspicious package in the mailbox on Monday afternoon, opened it and found what appeared to be an explosive device, Bedford police said.
"The employee placed the package in a wooded area and called the Bedford police," the local police department said in a statement.
Soros was not at home at the time and bomb squad technicians defused the device, said police in Bedford, a wealthy enclave that is home to a string of the rich and famous within easy commute of Manhattan.
An "extensive investigation" has been opened and the case has been turned over to the Joint Terrorism Task Force Division of the FBI, police said.
"We are conducting an investigation at and around a residence in Bedford," the FBI's New York field office said on Twitter. "There is no threat to public safety, and we have no further comment at this time."
Born to a Jewish family in Hungary, the 88-year-old hedge fund tycoon has an estimated net worth of $8.3 billion, making him one of the world's richest men, according to Forbes magazine.
In 1992, the Wall Street trader became known as "the man who broke the bank of England" when his aggressive speculation against sterling sent it crashing out of the European exchange mechanism.
He has given away billions to his Open Society Foundations, which promote freedom of expression, justice and equality, and which counter discrimination, focusing in part on Central and Eastern Europe.
The organization on Tuesday condemned the "hateful rhetoric that dominates politics in the United States and so many countries around the world," noting it "breeds extremism and violence.
"In this climate of fear, falsehoods, and rising authoritarianism, just voicing your views can draw death threats," it said, adding that Soros "deplores violence of any kind and urges politicians across the political spectrum to tone down their rhetoric."
Earlier this month US President Donald Trump accused Soros of paying demonstrators to protest against the nomination of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, who was accused of attempted rape in high school.
Soros supported Trump's Democratic rival Hillary Clinton in the 2016 US election and has been accused by nationalists the world over of sponsoring protests and seeking to push a liberal, multicultural agenda.
Roseanne Barr, the US actress sacked from the revival of her eponymous sitcom for sending a racist tweet about a former Barack Obama aide, called Soros a Nazi earlier this year before later apologizing.

Yes, even the wife of a Supreme Court justice IS a deplorable. Then again, so is her husband.Wife of Supreme Court justice spreads fake news about the migrant caravanPublished: Oct 24, 2018 2:30 p.m. ET
Honduran migrants heading in a caravan to the U.S. climb on a truck in Huixtla on their way to Mapastepec Chiapas state, Mexico.
By SHAWN LANGLOIS SOCIAL-MEDIA EDITOR News travels fast, but fake news travels even faster, especially when there’s a political agenda attached to it.
One glaring example took place over the weekend, when someone on Twitter TWTR, -4.28% posted a photograph of an injured police officer, with a caption that he’d been “brutalized” by the migrant caravan on its way to the United States.
Soon, it would spread across the internet, as these things do. Same picture. Mostly the same caption. But, as you can see by these examples, different accounts.
The problem, according to a deep dive from Snopes: It’s not true. The main image, which was taken during a clash in Mexico City in 2012, is just another attempt to demonize the refugees and spread fears over immigration.
You can see the image used in this 2012 story.
“These pictures do not capture police officers who were brutalized by members of the immigrant caravan making its way toward the U.S. in October 2018,” Snopes explained. “They’re all several years old and depict the aftermath of altercations between police officers and protesters in Mexico.”
Snopes wasn’t the only one to point this out, of course:
Nevertheless, plenty believed it. That long list apparently includes Ginni Thomas, wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, who posted it on her page:

another assh**E James Woods dismisses suspected bomb sent to Clintons as an 'obvious political stunt' Taryn Ryder 1 hour 17 minutes ago Reactions Reblog on Tumblr Share Tweet Email James Woods and Hillary Clinton. (Photo: Getty Images) Explosive devices addressed to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and former President Barack Obama were intercepted by the Secret Service late Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning. CNN’s offices in New York were also evacuated after a suspicious package was sent there Wednesday. The New York Times reports the three devices were similar to the pipe bomb found Monday at the home of billionaire and major Democratic donor George Soros.
Naturally, everyone’s first reaction probably is, what does outspoken conservative actor James Woods think of all this? Well, he was happy to let you know on Twitter.
The 71-year-old Casino star brushed off the incident as “an obvious political stunt,” saying no one cares enough about the Clintons to send them a bomb.
Then it was pretty much business as usual for Woods, an avid supporter of President Trump, slamming Democrats and railing against immigration. He also called Obama a “clown.”

When one Twitter user called Woods “pathetic” for his posts, the Oscar-nominated actor fired back with … a “your mom” joke. Really.
In September, Woods was suspended from Twitter because of a political hoax meme he shared and refused to delete, encouraging men not to vote in this year’s midterm elections. The actor was told he violated company policies and that the tweet “has the potential to be misleading in a way that could impact an election.” He was allowed to return two weeks later. Trump initially acknowledges he is in large part responsible for dangerous rhetoric that has prompted these bombings. He then goes on to blame the corporate media more than himself. Trump has attacked media stories that report verbatim the things he has said. If the media is reporting negative behavior how exactly are they supposed to report it?
The other responsible party is the right wing noise machine starting with FOX that demonizes Liberals and Liberalism 24/7 for the past 25 years...media, radio, tv and now online. This division didn't happen overnight. The only other media out there is CORPORATE media. It is NOT a Liberal media. That is a right wing catchword. This is all a game to Trump. He likes to see how far he can push his base into horrible actions or taunt the Left as much as he can. He is trying very hard to incite a civil war. Just a game to see what he can get away with. And now he is playing nice? For what, 30 minutes until his next jackass move?

For a night, anyway, it was a kinder, gentler Donald Trump.
At the conclusion of a day that saw pipe bombs delivered to prominent Democratic politicians, donors and CNN’s New York offices, President Trump employed a markedly different tone when he addressed his supporters at a campaign rally Wednesday night in Mosinee, Wis.
After acknowledging the packages that he said the FBI was investigating and vowing to “find those responsible,” Trump decried politically motivated violence and said “We want all sides to come together in peace and harmony.”
“Those engaged in the political arena must stop treating political opponents as being morally defective,” Trump said, reading from a teleprompter.
Whereas Trump usually rails against the “fake news” organizations assigned to cover him at his rallies, this time the president pulled his punches.
“The media has a responsibility to set a civil tone and to stop the endless hostility and constant negative and oftentimes false attacks and stories,” Trump said, a line that failed to generate the rousing chants of “CNN sucks!” heard earlier in the week.
Hours before the Wisconsin rally, CNN president Jeff Zucker issued a stern statement criticizing Trump for his incendiary rhetoric at rallies across the country, saying he shows a “complete lack of understanding” about the consequences his words have.
As he pivoted into his stump speech, the fiery, combative Trump was nowhere to be found. In a softer, even tone, Trump extolled the need for “more, not less policy debate in our country.” To that end, he portrayed the differences between the two political parties in terms that any Republican politician of the past 50 years might have used.
“Republicans are for lower taxes, less regulations and more economic freedom, and that’s a good thing,” Trump said. “The Democrats are for higher taxes, more regulations, and more top-down government control.”
Then Trump made it clear that his demeanor was itself scripted. “By the way, do you see how nice I am behaving tonight? Have you ever seen this? We are all behaving very well. Hopefully we can keep it that way, right? We are going to keep it that way.”
Gone from his speech was his usual assertion that “Democrats are the party of crime”; that Rep. Maxine Waters, the California Democrat who had received pipe bombs in the mail, was a “low I.Q. individual”; and that the media are “dishonest people” or even the “enemy of the people.”
In fact, he sounded much like the Republican politicians he defeated in the 2016 primary, like Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, one of the candidates he had come to Wisconsin to try and boost in a tight midterm election.
“I’m trying to be nice,” Trump said.

Talk about a false equivalency! Being nice to republiconservatives doesn't work. Look how Obama tried to make nice. Go along to get along didn't help him much. Took him 6 painstaking years to figure that one out before he finally became unilateral. If you want to blame anyone blame right wing media and their noise machine. Especially look at what FOX and its minions have been doing for two decades. 24/7 demonizing Liberals and brainwashing their viewers turning them into deplorables. It is only when Liberals started fighting back then suddenly we are talking about a divided nation. Nobody was paying attention to what was and IS going on with right wing media.

Blame, blame, blame everyone but themselves for their despicable behavior. So what's next "Hitler did it first" so we can do it?URGENT 🔴 Sarah Sanders Press Briefing President Trump Not Responsible for Packages Sent to CriticsSarah Sanders: Trump No More Responsible For Bomb Packages Than Bernie Sanders Is For Baseball Game ShootingHuffPost Jenna Amatulli,HuffPost 4 hours ago
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders told reporters on Thursday morning that President Donald Trump is “certainly not responsible for sending suspicious packages to someone, no more than Bernie Sanders was responsible for a supporter of his shooting up a Republican baseball field practice last year.”
Huckabee Sanders made the statement to reporters in the White House driveway, referring to the suspicious packages containing “potential explosive devices” sent on Wednesday to several prominent Democrats, including former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, as well as to the CNN headquarters.
The press secretary compared the packages targeting the politicians to a June 2017 attack by a lone gunman who opened fire on a group of Republican lawmakers practicing for a congressional baseball game. House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) was injured alongside several others. Police shot the gunman who later died of his injuries at a hospital. The shooter was reportedly a supporter of Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.).
Sen. Lindsey Graham also made a similar remark on Twitter later Thursday, saying that he won’t blame Trump “for this nut job” because he didn’t blame Bernie Sanders when his supporter shot Scalise.
But these statements draw a false equivalence. Bernie Sanders has never incited or called for violence whereas the same cannot be said for Trump. Trump regularly calls reporters “enemies of the people” and has a history of making provocative statements during rallies ― he’s encouraged supporters to “knock the crap” out of protesters and once said he would “like to punch” one in the face.
At a recent rally, Trump referenced Rep. Greg Gianforte’s 2017 attack on a reporter and said: “Any guy who can do a body slam, he is my type!”
Huckabee Sanders on Thursday also lambasted the media during her chat with reporters, saying that 90 percent of the media coverage on Trump is “negative.” When asked by one reporter if Trump regretted any of the comments he’s made in reference to the press, Huckabee Sanders replied:
“Look, the president’s condemned violence in all forms and has done that since day one and will continue to do that, but certainly feels that everyone has a role to play.” The press secretary also slammed CNN on Wednesday night after network president Jeff Zucker criticized the Trump administration’s rhetoric towards the press. “The President, and especially the White House Press Secretary, should understand their words matter. Thus far, they have shown no comprehension of that,” he said.
″[President Donald Trump] asked Americans ‘to come together and send one very clear, strong, unmistakable message that acts or threats of political violence of any kind have no place in the USA’” Huckabee Sanders tweeted in response just after a Trump rally in Wisconsin. “Yet you chose to attack and divide. America should unite against all political violence.”
Huckabee Sanders also called the idea that Trump would be behind the packages sent to his opponents “disgraceful,” adding that there’s quite a difference between “comments made and actions taken.”
