Let This Percussionist Blow Your Mind With The Fibonacci SequenceAugust 10, 20181:06 PM ET Anastasia Tsioulcas ANASTASIA TSIOULCAS
YouTube Rhythm nerd alert! Bow down, drummers! Our social feeds have been on fire with a mind-bending, gasp-worthy video posted earlier this week — below — made by the accomplished Indian percussionist B.C. Manjunath. He's a master of konnakol -- the Carnatic, or South Indian, art of speaking percussive syllables in rapid-fire, intricate patterns to convey a larger thalam, or rhythmic cycle.
But here, B.C. Manjunath isn't using any old thalam for his whirl of konnakol — in an inspired stroke, he is using a Fibonacci sequence gorgeously, to take off into a dazzling, awe-inducing rhythmic fantasy.
(Math refresher! A Fibonacci sequence is a series of numbers in which each number is the sum of the two preceding numbers. Here, he uses the simple pattern of 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13 and 21. That is: 1 + 1 = 2; 2+1 = 3; 3 + 2 = 5; 5 +3 = 8; 8 + 5 = 13; 13 + 8 = 21. Got it? Good.)
So, in B.C. Manjunath's thalam, each of those Fibonacci segments makes up part of a larger rhythmic cycle. (You can get a closer look at what he's doing here.) The result ... well, just hold on to your seat, and watch the whole video. It will make your day.
And if you can't get enough of Carnatic music and the Fibonacci numbers, check out this other mathematically inspired performance from composer and singer — and scientist — Venkata S. Viraraghavan, violinist Muruganandan Vasudevan and mridangam (drum) player Jagadeesh Janardhanan. It's a song in praise, appropriately enough, of the Hindu goddess Saraswati — the deity of both music and learning.Fibonacci Sequence Documentary - Golden Section Explained - Secret Teachings
ibonacci Sequence Documentary, Golden Section Explained - Secret Teachings
The Fibonacci spiral is named after Italian mathematician Fibonacci. His 1202 book Liber Abaci introduced the sequence to Western European mathematics, although the sequence had been described earlier as Virahanka numbers in Indian mathematics. By modern convention, the sequence begins either with F0 = 0 or with F1 = 1. The sequence described in Liber Abaci began with F1 = 1.
Fibonacci numbers are closely related to Lucas numbers. They are intimately connected with the golden ratio or golden mean; for example, the closest rational approximations to the ratio are 2/1, 3/2, 5/3, 8/5, ...
Fibonacci numbers appear unexpectedly often in mathematics, so much so that there is an entire journal dedicated to their study, the Fibonacci Quarterly. Applications of Fibonacci numbers include computer algorithms such as the Fibonacci search technique and the Fibonacci heap data structure, and graphs called Fibonacci cubes used for interconnecting parallel and distributed systems. They also appear in biological settings, such as branching in trees, phyllotaxis (the arrangement of leaves on a stem), the fruit sprouts of a pineapple, the flowering of an artichoke, an uncurling fern and the arrangement of a pine cone's bracts. This movie also deals with the magical applications of the sequence, the pentagram or pentacle being a Fibonacci spiral borrowed directly from nature, and also many practical applications and mathematical ideas. Why is 1.618034 So Important?

flawless it formed the basis for all art and music; a number so important that it could be used across the disciplines of mathematics and physics, and a number so profoundly purposeful that the natural world and the universe would bend to its whims. The Fibonacci Sequence is a string of numbers that begins with zero and one which can be extended infinitely by adding up any two consecutive numbers to find the next in the sequence. The Golden Ratio is a mathematical term used to describe the relationship of two figures, whereby the numbers seem to be in some form of complimentary ratio. To link the Fibonacci Sequence and the Golden Ratio we must look at the ratio between two consecutive numbers in Fibonacci, and observe the pattern this ratio takes as you use ever higher numbers. The Golden Ratio has fascinated the world's most knowledgeable people for millennia since its discovery, and we have seen its influence in some of the finest works mankind has ever produced. Is the Golden Ratio a universal law applied by nature? The evidence seems to suggest so, and the aforementioned Leonardo Da Vinci may have alluded to this in some of his most famous works.

Embassy 'sonic attacks' may have been microwave blastsThey might have led to brain injuries, too. Jon Fingas, @jonfingas 09.02.18 in Politics
Adalberto Roque/AFP/Getty Images
When researchers postulated that the "sonic attacks" on embassies in Cuba (and more recently China) were the fault of malfunctioning surveillance gear, that wasn't the end to concerns about the true cause... if anything, there's more worry than ever. The University of Pennsylvania's Douglas Smith (who led a paper discussing the trauma of embassy victims) said in an interview that microwave blasts are now considered primary candidates. The concussion-like symptoms more closely line up with microwaves and other radio frequency-related illnesses than previous explanations, including straightforward acoustic attack, anxiety or viruses. Embassy staff may have been subjected to the Frey effect, where microwaves fool the brain into perceiving phantom noises when they hit the temporal lobes processing signals from your ears. Sufficiently powerful microwave blasts can cause pain, and might even deal lasting damage to the nervous system.
The State Department told the New York Times that it hadn't yet pinpointed the nature of the attacks, and the FBI has decline to comment. It's possible there's a more pedestrian explanation like some kind of other frequency-related illness. An upcoming paper from UC San Diego's Beatrice Golomb supports the microwave theory, however.
If microwaves were involved, though, that just invites more questions. Was it intentional, and who was to blame if so? It's tempting to pin any purposeful attack on Russia (since it has easy access to both countries), but China and European countries have also researched microwave weapons. And any deliberate blasts would raise concerns about the security of embassy staff worldwide -- how could you protect against remote attacks that you can't even see?

SEPTEMBER 21, 2018 SOUND VERSUS CANCER? SHADES OF ROYAL RIFEMs. C.M. found this unusual story, and I thought I'd pass it along with some additional observations. It seems that Chinese medical scientists have been experimenting with High Frequency Ultrasound as a treatment against cancer:
Scientists have discovered a way to destroy cancer tumors using nothing but sound waves
The results have been promising:
A recent breakthrough in high-intensity focused ultrasound therapy (HIFU) technology has proven its use as an effective cancer treatment. A multi-institutional research team from China developed a semi-enclosed, spherical cavity transducer that can produce a focused, standing-wave field with a subwavelength-scale focal region and extremely high ultrasound intensity. The spherical cavity transducer appeared to generate tighter focal regions and greater pressure amplitude compared with the traditional concave spherical transducer. Researchers said the level of intensity generated by the new transducer design may lead to significant improvements in HIFU therapy. The findings were published in the Journal of Applied Physics.
HIFU is a non-invasive, targeted treatment that makes use of sound waves to eradicate cancer cells. HIFU uses an ultrasonic transducer to convert electrical signals into sound waves, then concentrates ultrasound into a small focal region to raise the temperature to more than 65 decrees Celsius, thereby killing cancer cells in the process without inducing damage to surrounding tissues. The technique works in the same manner as focusing sunlight through a lens, which helps eliminate the disease-causing cells.
...
For instance, researchers at the University College Hospital in London examined 625 men with prostate cancer and found that 93 percent of patients who underwent HIFU alone remained cancer-free at five years following the treatment, without requiring surgery or radiotherapy. Data also showed that only one to two percent of patients who had HIFU treatment suffered long-term urinary incontinence, compared with 10 to 20 percent of patients who had surgery. In addition, only 15 percent of patients in the HIFU group developed erectile dysfunction compared with 30 to 60 percent of surgical patients. (Emphasis added)
As one might imagine, and as the title of this blog suggests, I couldn't help but think of the medical "industry's" (read, "Big Pharma's") assault on Dr. Royal Raymond Rife. Rife, for those unfamiliar with the story, was one of many early cancer researchers in the twentieth century who believed in the viral theory of cancer. To this end, he invented a microscope which, he claimed, was able to see viruses without killing them, unlike an electron microscope. Using this invention, he claimed to have experimented using different sound waves to find the right frequencies for various viruses which he claimed caused sarcomas and carcinomas. These frequencies killed the cells, and, predictably, Rife's clinic was swamped with customers...
...until, that is, he was shut down, his microscope stolen (and, by the way, never seen again), and Rife was denied his medical license. The principal cause for shutting him down, was his claim for his microscope, which according to standard physical laws, could not claim the optical resolution Rife was claiming for it.The microscope he also claimed had to be "tuned", suggesting it was itself sonically based. I've written before, years ago, about this problem in the Rife story, and about Lt. Col. Tom Bearden's unique speculation on what Rife was really attempting to do with his microscope. But in any case, Rife was denounced as a fraud, and his clinic shut down. It was, if one wishes to be blunt about it, a case of "our theory says your microscope can't work, therefore it doesn't work, therefore all your claims based upon that machine are fraudulent." True enough, since Rife's ignominious end, lots of fakery and quackery have percolated with supposed "Rife healing machines," all of which ignore the crucial component of his whole claim: the microscope which he claimed enabled him to experimentally find the correct frequencies to kill various cancers.
But Rife's basic claim remained: various types of sound, modulated on carrier waves, could destroy cancer. Similar research, as readers of my recent book Microcosm and Medium will be aware, was also conducted in the Soviet Union in the 1960s and 1970s. And now, the old idea of sound curing or killing cancers has reared its head once again, and once again, apparently with some success.
If there's a lesson here, it's that this idea has been around for a very long time, and in essence, Dr. Rife's views were essentially confirmed (sans the microscope). That also means something truly depressing, for it also means that a cure or technique was suppressed for almost eighty years, while big pharma and big medicine cut, hacked, sawed, radiated, and chemo-ed people with cures almost as bad as the disease.
Watch for this technique to be tied up in decades of regulation, denial, questions, trials, and the other usual tactics, while the latest genetic modification of corn or soybeans sail through in a matter of weeks.
See you on the flip side...

Episode 534: The History of Light (Nobel Edition)October 8, 20181:26 PM ET JACOB GOLDSTEIN DAVID KESTENBAUM
listen: www.npr.org/sections/money/2018/10/08/655597272/episode-534-the-history-of-light-nobel-edition
Our own Jacob Goldstein made this candle out of animal fat. Jacob Goldstein/NPR This episode is a rerun. It originally ran in 2014. We're playing it again because Bill Nordhaus shared the 2018 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Science today! We based this episode on one of his papers.
For thousands of years, getting light was a huge hassle. You had to make candles from scratch. This is not as romantic as it sounds. You had to get a cow, raise the cow, have food to feed the cow, kill the cow, get the fat out of the cow, cook the fat, dip wicks into the fat. All that--for not very much light. Now, if we want to light a whole room, we just flip a switch.
PLANET MONEY #534: The History of Light (Nobel Edition) The history of light explains why the world today is the way it is. It explains why we aren't all subsistence farmers, and why we can afford to have artists and massage therapists and plumbers. (And, yes, people who do radio stories about the history of light.) The history of light is the history of economic growth--of things getting faster, cheaper, and more efficient.
On today's show: How we got from dim little candles made out of cow fat, to as much light as we want at the flick of a switch.
Also, Nordhaus shared the 2018 Nobel in economic sciences with Paul Romer, who we've also profiled. Music: "Give It To You" and "I Got News For You." Find us: Twitter/ Facebook.

THE DISTORTION OF SOUNDMEDIA, MUSIC
www.documentarytube.com/videos/the-distortion-of-sound
The Distortion of Sound [Full Film]
Distortion of Sound Published on Jul 10, 2014 The Distortion of Sound is a documentary about the decline of sound quality and how technology has changed the way we listen to music. It will open your ears and inspire you to reach for richer, more soul-stirring musical experiences. Hear it all at www.DistortionOfSound.com
CAST: Mike Shinoda • Slash • Quincy Jones • Snoop Dogg • Steve Aoki • Hans Zimmer • Andrew Scheps • Manny Marroquin • Dan the Automator • Lianne La Havas • Kate Nash • A.R. Rahman • Neil Strauss • Chris Ludwig • Greg Timbers • Dr. Sean OliveThe documentary explores the topic of decline of sound quality in music. According to the documentary, the reason for decline is that music is distributed with lousy compression algorithms.
The problem, however, is that the documentary does not make the difference between data compression and dynamic range compression.
The documentary features interviews with writers, producers, rappers, mixers, music journalists, and many more people in the music business. Some of the artists making an appearance include Slash, Snoop Dogg, Steve Aoki, and Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park.
The documentary was uploaded to YouTube using its own audio compression. However, some might say that the documentary has a tendency of belittling streaming and music services like Pandora, Spotify, and others. As they pose threat to the recording companies, the music world wants to make sure they have the monopoly.
Yes, it is great to listen to hi-fi music on hi-fi speakers. But not all of us can afford that luxury.

Rife Frequency - 10000 Hz with 20 Hz - Reported "Cure All" Rife Frequency - Isochronic ToneAnthony Sommer Published on Mar 24, 2016
This one is very intense. Use at a low volume. Do not use around pets.
10000 HZ and 20 Hz are primary Rife Frequencies, and according to the CAFL lists, these frequencies may help with almost everything. I cannot write a list here because there is not enough of a character capacity.
You can find a list of benefits here:
Cross Reference List of CAFL Frequencies
The CAFL Cross Reference (CAFL XREF) is a compilation of all the conditions in the Consolidated Annotated Frequency List indexed by frequency. It has limited utility for the most popular frequencies such as 20, 728, 800, 880, 1550, and 10000 since so many conditions are listed, but it can be helpful when running scans and sweeps to possibly indicate frequency sets which may be useful as well as sometimes identify commonality of the causative pathogens of various diseases.
The original cross reference list of the CAFL was produced by Stone Circle alternatives in the late 1990s. Now, after almost 10 years, a new cross reference list has been produced. Many thanks to Lee George for his help on this project. The CAFL XREF is included in the third edition of the Electroherbalism Frequency Lists book, shown at right.

SOUNDHEALTHThe Institute of BioAcoustic Biology & Sound Health has taught us that nothing is hidden from your own voice. You may be able to lie to your friends and deceive yourself with your words but the vocal frequencies do not lie. Vocal Profiling computer software can evaluate the frequencies, architectures and harmonics of your voice. Vast frequency based databanks can now be used to create a report of what you really think, who you are emotionally and the status of your health and wellness. The frequencies missing from your voice are just as important as those that are present. An entire matrix of information, from your DNA to your partner preferences can be evaluated.
The research being conducted by the Institute of BioAcoustic Biology is on the forefront of energy medicine; creating the doorway to our next dimension of health revolution. In addition, the techniques hold promise in answering questions about how our universe was formed, and how our aging and perception of time can be monitored using frequency.
About Sharry Edwards™
Named Scientist of the Year in 2001 for her work in BioAcoustic Biology by The International Association of New Science
Sharry Edwards™ is the pioneer in the study of Human BioAcoustic Biology. Her 30 years of research is being used at the Institute of BioAcoustic Biology in Albany, OH.
Sharry Edwards’ work is now included in The Duke University Encyclopedia of New Medicine, by Leonard A. Wisnecki and The Scientific Basis of Integrative Medicine, by Lucy Anderson. The effects of BioAcoustic Biology, now accepted by these prestigious medical encyclopedias, have unlimited health and wellness potential.
According to Edwards, “BioAcoustics Voice Spectral Analysis can detect hidden or underlying stresses in the body that are expressed as disease.” The vocal print can identify toxins, pathogens and nutritional supplements that are too low or too high. In addition, vocal print can be used to match the most compatible treatment remedy to each client. The introduction of the proper low frequency sound to the body, indicated through voice analysis, has been shown to control: pain, body temperature, heart rhythm, and blood pressure. It has also been shown to regenerate body tissue, and alleviate the symptoms of many diseases (in some cases, even those considered to be incurable).

"THE BIOCYBERNAUT ALPHA ONE TRAINING IS ONE OF THE MOST VALUABLE THINGS I'VE DONE IN MY LIFE." — TONY ROBBINS; ENTREPRENEUR, AUTHOR, PHILANTHROPIST People of every age and walk of life experience powerful new bursts of creativity, emotional renewal, and even spiritual epiphanies beyond anything they ever thought themselves capable of. Men and women suffering the effects of brain aging, memory loss, ADD and ADHD, depression, panic and anxiety disorders, addictions, and even stroke can transform their lives in ways they couldn’t even imagine.
The Biocybernaut Institute, Inc. was founded in 1983 by Dr. James V. Hardt, who has a bachelor of science degree in Physics from Carnegie Institute of Technology, a master of science in Psychology and a Ph.D. in Psychology from Carnegie Mellon University, and has done a post-doctoral program in Psychophysiology at the Langley Porter Neuropsychiatric Institute (University of California, San Francisco), now with over forty years of research and clinical practice in neurofeedback brain wave enhancement, and is certified as a senior fellow by the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance.
WHAT WE DO Biocybernaut offers 7-Day Brain Training programs that teach clients how to control their own Brain Waves. We have nine levels of Alpha Training and nine levels of Theta Training available to the public. Trainees from all walks of life and from all around the world have traveled to Biocybernaut centers in Canada, Germany and the USA to learn to control their own brain waves.
The name Biocybernaut derives from its three linguistic components: Bio, Cyber and Naut. “Naut” is an Ancient Greek suffix meaning someone who goes on a voyage or an adventure. "Cyber" derives from "cypher" and means calculations and now refers to computer calculating technology. Cybernetics is the science of control systems. And Bio-Cybernetics is the science of biological control systems. "Bio" is meant to refer to an individual's biology and physiology. Hence, a Biocybernaut is one who journeys through his or her own inner biological universe using computers to provide feedback about their own internal control systems and processes. At Biocybernaut, trainees learn how to control their own brain waves and go on deep and meaningful adventures in consciousness.
IN RESEARCH STUDIES AND PRACTICE WITH PEOPLE IN OVER 30+ YEARS OF RESEARCH, THE FOLLOWING GAINS HAVE BEEN DEMONSTRATED USING THE BIOCYBERNAUT PROCESS ™. Reversing brain aging – even after onset of senility – by restoring youthful brain wave patterns (results from hundreds of trainees demonstrate that people in their 70s and 80s can be trained to create the brain wave patterns of a 35 or 40 year old!)… Along with creating these youthful brain wave patterns come youthful mind states and youthful behaviors and youthful joy and enthusiasm for life. Expanding awareness and intuition “Thinking smarter” by forging deeper connections and rapport with the subconscious mind. Accessing deep forgiveness and engaged indifference or non-attachment. Relief from stress, anxiety and depression (We have worked with people in the highest 10% of anxiety and found that when they learned to increase Alpha, their anxiety dropped to below average). Remaining calm and focused under pressure. Achieving mental and physical “flow” states on command (the latest brain research shows that a “burst” of Alpha brain waves precedes peak performance). Enhancing creativity. Biocybernaut studied scientists from the Stanford Research Institute who were tested for creativity before and after their Alpha One training. The participants’ creativity increased dramatically by an average of 50%. Increasing IQ by 11.7 points on average. Building self-esteem and self-confidence. Deepening spiritual awareness and meditation practice. Biocybernaut – Change your Brainwaves. www.facebook.com/VoiceMessagesDocumentary/?tn-str=k*FINCLUDES VOICE OVER ... New Film, Voice Messages, Is Documenting The Power And Beauty Of The Human Voice www.voiceoverxtra.com/article.htm?id=X864ESKU July 8, 2016
(VOXtra) - As voice actors we know the power, the beauty and the importance of the human voice - even as the general public may take voice for granted as simply another of our many senses.
Filmmaker and multi-Emmy-winning producer Martin Zied (pictured) is on a documentary mission to create a new public mindset.
From his personal and professional experiences, Zied is creating Voice Messages - a film that, as he explains, "explores the human voice in ways that have never been seen or heard together in the same place."
Voice Messages combines singing, speaking, science, sociology and history to examine the far-reaching impact of the human voice. And Zied says, viewers will be "entertained, informed, amazed and taken to places they've probably never been before."
We get a glimpse of that in this enchanting brief video. Watch and then read below what Zied tells VoiceOverXtra about his passion for human voice - plus a contest for non-professional choirs and singing groups (entry is free) in a search for the group that will be featured prominently in the film.
CREATING IN PHASES
In the initial phase of this project Zied has interviewed a diverse set of experts and performers, including voice over artist Billy West (pictured, in a still from the film). Among West's many credits are The Ren & Stimpy Show and Futurama.
Also currently in the film are Grammy-winning recording artists Linda Ronstadt, Take 6, Lalah Hathaway (daughter of the R&B luminary Donny Hathaway), vocal special effects wizard Michael Winslow (The Police Academy franchise, Spaceballs), otolaryngologist and chairman of the The Voice Foundation Dr. Robert Sataloff, and Anne Karpf, author of The Human Voice. (Editor's note: We'd look forward to seeing additional voice actors in the mix!) To complete the filming, Zied is raising funds in Indiegogo, where contributors will choose from a variety of rewards including signed DVDs, limited-edition art prints, high-quality tote bags, special mention in closing credits and more.
ABOUT MARTIN ZIED ...
Zied is a six-time Emmy™ Award winner with extensive television and film experience. He has written and produced episodes and segments for TV shows including 20/20 (ABC) and 48 Hours Mystery (CBS).
His 20/20 segment on "the history of terrorism" featured an interview with Osama Bid Laden and never-before-seen footage of the first World Trade Center terror attack in 1993.
Zied is also an Emmy-winning Senior Producer and teacher at Drexel University's Paul F. Harron Studios in Philadelphia.
A rabid sports fan, he's written for Sports Illustrated online, and Zied is a sought after public speaker and singer and aficionado of vocal harmony.
'MOVED TO TEARS'
Yet all this experience does not completely explain Zeid's interest in the human voice, as he explains in reply to VoiceOverXtra's question about the source of his passion for voice:
"I was moved to tears in the third grade as an upper classman sang in the school auditorium," he says. "I was with my mom and was totally embarrassed by crying and had no idea why I cried.
"Years later I realized that it was the tenderness and soulfulness of his voice that had shaken me.
"I was a voice nut from that day on!
"In my life I went on to sing in harmony groups - doo wop on the Philly street corners, college Glee Club and choir, barbershop quartets and most recently, an acapella gospel group. And as a TV network producer, I came into contact with incredibly commanding voices that I loved listening to.
"I decided to make Voice Messages as an ode to our voices, in all of their many manifestations."
VOICE COMFORT LEADS TO CONFIDENCE
Zied adds that in his courses at Drexel University, he teaches students how to use their voices in voice overs.
"What I've found is that the more comfortable they become with their voices, the more confident they become as individuals," he says. "That may seem unremarkable to some, but to me, it's a revelation!
"And we all know how a voice in a television commercial or in any performance, can be an uplifting, powerful tool, that can sometimes determine whether the commercial or performance is a success.
"The voice is an underrated instrument. It can make all the difference in our worlds!"
CHOIR CONTEST & FILM DETAILS
Zied also announces an open call for submissions to select the choir or singing group to be featured in Voice Messages.
"Entering is free and open to any and all non-professional choirs and singing groups around the world," he explains. The winning choir will be chosen by a panel of judges.
The choir contest entry deadline is July 20, 2016, and details are here:
Details about the funding campaign are also at the above link.

I am in my 60s and while I couldn't hear the mosquito in the top two videos here I was able to hear it in the third video at the bottom of this post. The Mosquito was invented in Wales several years ago. Since then, Moving Sound Technologies has been marketing and selling the Mosquito throughout North America. Many cities, municipalities, school districts, and parks boards use the Mosquito to combat vandalism
The patented Mosquito is a small speaker that produces a high frequency sound much like the buzzing of the insect it's named after. This high frequency can be heard by young people 13 to 25 years old.
The latest version of the Mosquito is called the MK4 Multi-Age. It has two different settings one for teenagers 13 - 25 years and one setting for all ages. When it is set to 17KHz the Mosquito can only be heard by teenagers approximately 13 to 25 years of age. When set to 8 KHz the Mosquito can be heard by all ages.
How does the Mosquito work? The mosquito requires a power supply in order to operate. A transformer will allow you to plug it into an outlet. Or you can get an electrician to hardwire it into existing outdoor electrical. The Mosquito can work with a timer, motion sensor or remote control.
It starts working within a few minutes after setting it up. There is an auto cut-off feature at 20 minutes and there are 4 types of volume selection options. For specific applications, additional chips can be provided for continuous use.
For the youth setting the frequency comes out of the speaker in a 60 degree arc and can reach 80 to 130 feet depending on the volume setting. What is the MUSIC Mosquito? The Music Mosquito is a complete music system that will relay Royalty free Classical or Chill-out music that would keep the teenagers away to some extent. A stereo system can be used to amplify the music but it cannot be used outdoors as the speakers are not weatherproof. Though playing music in public places require licenses to be obtained from Performing Rights Society, for Music Mosquito no licenses are required as the music broadcast is the sole property of Compound Security Systems Ltd and the best part is that you can play music all round the year without paying any fee.
Music Mosquito has a strong steel body and can work with a remote control for on and off. Selection of 10 levels of volume is available apart from the 20 minute auto cutoff, which can be replaced by a chipset for continuous use for specific applications. Launched in the year 2008, it is popular among clients who prefer to use music as one of the strategies to deal with anti social behavior!

Catching z’s to the sound of Island oceans (without sleeping on the beach)Michael Eudenback’s new CD brings the waves to your bedroom. By Holly Nadler -April 8, 2015 www.mvtimes.com/2015/04/08/catching-zs-to-the-sound-of-island-oceans-without-sleeping-on-the-beach/
The cover of the CD features a scenic ocean photo by Mike Eudenbach. — Photo courtesy Mike Eudenbach
It is universally acknowledged that everybody loves the sound of ocean waves. Well, almost everyone. Back in the ’70s I heard about an individual — she happened to be a celebrity — who was rattled by the boom of big waves outside and even underneath her newly purchased house built on pilings over the Pacific Ocean. Lying awake at night in the Malibu Colony, pop singer Linda Ronstadt worked herself into a state of nervous exhaustion from the jolting breakers, so much so that she built a bunker out back on terra firma, with soundproofing panels to enable her to sleep through both “surf’s up”-size waves and nuclear war.
But apart from Ms. Ronstadt, seemingly everyone in the world is soothed by the sound of waves. Which brings us to the latest project of photographer Michael Eudenback, formerly of West Tisbury and now in Newport, R.I. Mr. Eudenback loves to film our beaches, but a few years back he realized another dimension of the ocean beguiled him utterly.
He’d been stressed out and losing sleep. In a recent phone interview with The Times he said, “I was consulting doctors about insomnia. Nothing seemed to help.”
He had no interest in medicating himself silly (as some of us do). And then one afternoon on Lambert’s Cove Beach, after snapping a number of gorgeous shots, he stretched out on the warm sand and fell asleep. His last thought before a nice restorative snooze was, “Man, those waves are soporific.”
He returned to Lambert’s Cove with a recorder, and soon he was able to take the waves home with him: “It was transformational. Night after night the sounds from the shore lulled me to sleep.”
Pretty soon Mr. Eudenback was a man on a mission. He recorded the heavy surf of South Beach (where Linda Ronstadt should never buy a home), and the softer waves of West Chop, Lucy Vincent, and Gay Head. The quality of the sound of the CD Mr. Eudenback has produced from these recordings, Ocean Sounds of Martha’s Vineyard, is so clean and pure that at a first listen one might wonder, “How the heck did he bring the beaches into a studio?”
Mr. Eudenback says he took every natural precaution to derive unsullied sound. “I recorded in the off-season, went out very early in the morning, and then I found tricks to deal with the wind” (which can, apparently, really ruin the track). He scanned weather reports. For thunderous surf recordings he raced to south-facing beaches in the aftermath of storms. For gentler tides, he strove to capture the wave action in one continuous track. Should a jet fly over, he sighed heavily, then started again. This is not an art form for the impatient.
Mr. Eudenback, who is also a sailboat captain, met his future wife, painter Jessica Pisano, when she worked a few years ago at her father and stepmother’s Belushi Pisano Gallery on Beach Road in Vineyard Haven. Michael and Jessica married in 2009 at the Whaling Church, and while they reside in Middletown — near Newport — in Rhode Island, they’re often on the Island for visits with family. And of course beaches.
Also a photographer, Mr. Eudenback has exhibited his photographs at the Dragonfly and Belushi Pisano galleries, and currently in Cohasset and Chatham. Ms. Pisano has a show coming up of her paintings this August at the Field Gallery in West Tisbury.
Meanwhile, Mr. Eudenback’s CD of Ocean Sounds beckons to the impulse buyer with one of his photos of South Beach: It’s a lyrically blue, lacy white, and gold day: gold for the sand, lacy white for the frothy wavelets, pale turquoise for the close-in shallows, indigo blue for the Atlantic Ocean, and a flag-blue sky that informs all the colors below.
Mr. Eudenback said in a recent phone interview that the recordings are aimed at yoga practitioners who normally groove to the sounds of nature, as surround sound for surfers (“They turn it up high!”) when they’re trapped indoors, and as background feed for anyone far from this beloved Island who needs a tune-up from its wonders. But principally, it’s a tool for sleep.
The time had come for this reporter to test out the sleep dynamics of the Ocean Sounds CD. I happen to be an insomniac of epic proportions. Even as a small child, I often lay awake in bed watching the ruffling lights of far-away cars on my ceiling. When I complained to my mother that I rarely slept, she said, “Resting is just as healthful as sleeping.” OK, so I’ve spent my life resting.
I plugged in my CD player near the bed, turned Ocean Sounds on low (in case Linda Ronstadt dropped by for a late-night chat), put on my jammies and crawled under the covers with a book.
The sounds of the softly licking waves — the first 11-minute cut is from West Chop — includes ever-so-nuanced gurgles of water, almost like a fountain, only even sweeter. I read a few pages from the book, sinking deeply, hypnotically into a mound of pillows. I was out in no time, with no recollection of setting the novel aside or of turning out the light.
I slept through the night without waking up once: a new personal best. This works, my fellow and sister insomniacs. I intend to buy a few more copies of Mr. Eudenback’s CD before supplies run out. Look for them in the bookstores and assorted gift shops on the Island. The CD can also be purchased on eBay, Amazon and iTunes, and from theoceansounds.com.
And you know who else should stock them? Physicians, both allopathic and naturopathic, that’s who.
