January 01, 1975?
Venue:
Angel Stadium
Location:
Anaheim, California, United States
Notes:
*" One of these nights" tour *note: this is where my concert history began. Summer 1974 Life changing event.Destiny in place.
**:IMPORTANT: **note: Any concert dated Jan. 01, 1974 means i do not have the exact day OR date AND/OR year OR ANY combination of them.

Most likely this date of January 1 is correct judging from the Happy New Year sign in the background. There is often confusion on New Years from one year to the next.

Once More & Wicked Path of Sin (by Linda Ronstadt & Country Gazette at McCabe's ’74)
754 views Jan 5, 2020 Skip Way here with Once More & Wicked Path of Sin ~ my riffs on a photo of flowers taken by my sister Andrea. The soundtrack is a live performance by Linda Ronstadt and bluegrass band Country Gazette of Once More and Wicked Path of Sin at McCabe's Guitar Shop on 8/17/74 . Dusty Hayes wrote the 1st song, and Bill Monroe wrote the 2nd. When the members of the country rock ensemble Dillard & Clark went their separate ways in 1971, bluegrass fiddler Byron Berline and guitarist/bass player Roger Bush formed Country Gazette. Guitarist Kenny Wertz and banjo player Alan Munde soon joined. Herb Pedersen wrote songs and was a guest artist on Country Gazette records, but did not tour with the band. In 1973, Kenny Wertz left Country Gazette, and Roland White (mandolin, guitar) joined up. [Wikipedia]. This was the likely lineup for this show with the addition of Skip Conover on dobro, who had played on the band’s first album, 1972’s A Traitor in our Midst, and also played on the band’s “Live” album recorded at McCabes in November of 1974. Linda Ronstadt Feb 20 1974 Mt Pleasant HS
Gary Zenker 1,023 views 26 Jul 2022
Between 1972 and 1975, Mt Pleasant High School in Claymont Delaware hosted a number of concerts, including a double bill of Jackson Browne and Linda Ronstadt. This recording came from a friend who attended that concert
Both are enjoyable to listen to AUDIENCE cassette recordings uploaded from the master tape source. The concert goer who taped both sets with a cassette recorder is said to be an old friend of the youtuber(Gary Zenker).
If you were to capture this Youtube audio and slightly equalize it and burn it to CDr, you will have a treasure to enjoy on road trips in the car, or at home on your stereo system or wherever you enjoy listening to music.
It is a nice audience recording treasure. I hope you guys don't mind that I also listed the link for Jackson Browne's part also (both are on Gary Zenker youtube channel).
According to commentary there and from Gary's remarks about the concert, it appears that Mt. Pleasant High School in Claymont Delaware did host a number of rock concerts between 1972 and 1975. I urge you to check it out and listen to those two FEB 20th, 1974 audience recordings as they are almost broadcast quality, approximating AM radio. (LINDA 2-20-74 youtube v=gPy--d_N4q8 )....(JACKSON B 2-20-74 youtube v=wGCwIZDz24w ) so you can manually copy down the address for those links on Gary Zenker's youtube channel.
I would urge anyone that has any historic old cassette master audience tapes or if you know family members of friends that do have them, even if they are only marginally listenable to consider posting them up on to youtube, or maybe perhaps if you don't want the potential hassle of an illegally made concert recording being linked to or credited to you. I am sure the statute of limitations has long past for some recording you or a friend made decades ago. Assuming that you don't attempt to sell or profit from the distribution of said recording, I'd doubt that you'd have anybody coming after you. Perhaps, you might be forced to remove said recording off of youtube, or risk your entire youtube channel account being closed if you fail to comply in a timely manner, but that risk seems very low and it depends on the particular artist/group and the (c)license holder of the songs etc.
Many old previously uncirculated master audience tapes have come out of the woodwork in recent years, from shoeboxes, drawers, and filing cabinets of old baby boomers. One girl uploaded her 1972 Boston Garden stones master cassette tape, and another uploaded her master cassette from 1972 Chicago IL stones concert. Just about a month ago, there was the master cassette tape upload of a previously uncirculated ELP 1974 Savannah, GA concert. It seems that the old concert taper contacted the youtube channel of the particular person having an affection for ELP material. Now, of course, none of that is great quality but even though all that stuff was likely made with ordinary run of the mill cheap cassette tape recorders, the fact that they aren't so overloaded with distortion, and the fact that they are from the master cassette, they sometimes do give an almost decent enough historical audio snapshot of what it likely sounded like from the particular seat location of the taper on the most listenable ones.
The jewels are the ones that are clear and nicely balanced from a seat location where the sound pickup was really good.
This LINDA Feb 20, 1974 tape from the Mt Pleasant High School Gym in Claymont Delaware is such a jewel that you'll enjoy hearing!
