After reading through this thread and doing your "own" research and "if" you are an honest broker there should be NO doubt that anyone in the intelligence agencies or the so called bureaucracy had EVERY reason to order an investigation into Donald Trump and his campaign. To do any LESS would be a dereliction of duty. This man is up to his eyeballs in alligators and corruption. And one has to really question the patriotism and love of country for those who continually cover for and apologize for him."I Wish I Knew How To Quit You" I’ve been following American politics for a long time and I don’t think I’d ever see the day when a presidential candidate — no less a Republican presidential candidate — would favorably compare a Russian leader to the president of the United States. But yet here we are.
Since the beginning of this campaign, Donald Trump has had kind words for Russian President Vladimir Putin. None of it has made much sense, but earlier this week Trump went a step further and said of the Russian strongman that he had been a far better leader “than our president.” Trump even cited Putin’s 82 percent approval rating in a country that is not a democracy as supporting evidence. When NBC’s Matt Lauer began to point out some of Putin’s many political and democratic transgressions, Trump said, “Do you want me to start naming some of the things that President Obama does at the same time?”
There are so many aspects of this line of argument from Trump that are difficult to fathom, but first and foremost is the fact that Putin has been a terrible leader for his country, particularly since his second run as Russian president. www.bostonglobe.com/opinion/2016/09/09/trump-can-quit-putin/1CW8hrugP8ySKOUWh6nNwL/story.html

-In late 2015/early 2016, Obama received intelligence reports that Russia was attempting to interfere in the 2016 presidential election. -Obama immediately confronted Putin & launched an investigation. He was going to go public with the info but Mitch McConnell threatened Obama that, if he went public, McConnell would spin it as Obama trying to help Hillary (because McConnell knew even then that Russia's goal was to elect trump).
-In the course of the investigation, it became clear how many members of trump's team had so many close ties to Russia. That does NOT mean Obama was investigating trump. He was investigating Russia's election interference - and kept finding trump-connected people involved!Flashback: Trump asks Russia for Clinton emails Since the DNC hack became public, hacks against the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and the Clinton campaign have been reported.
The FBI is investigating, with all signs pointing to Russian involvement, though Moscow rejects this but experts argue Vladimir Putin has attempted in the past to damage western democracy, saying Russian security agencies have made cyberattacks on French, Greek, Italian and Latvian targets during elections.
Trump and his campaign have denied any connection to the hack but on Wednesday he ignited a firestorm by calling on Russia to find 30,000 emails deleted from the private server used by Clinton while she was secretary of state in the Obama administration. “I think you will probably be mightily rewarded by our press,” he said. He later claimed that he was being sarcastic.
Analysts suggest three primary motivations for the WikiLeaks email dump, quite probably overlapping: doing harm to the US political process to undermine its credibility; doing harm to Clinton (WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange is no friend); and boosting Trump, who has heaped praise on Putin and last week broke from Republican policy by suggesting the US would not automatically come to the aid of Nato allies and saying he would consider recognising Crimea as Russian territory.
James Rubin, a former assistant secretary of state now advising the Clinton campaign, said: “If you are the president of Russia and you have stated over and over again that you are concerned that the United States – through its enlargement of Nato, through its policies in Europe towards Ukraine, towards Georgia, towards other countries in Central Asia – [is] putting pressure on Russia, and you are the president of a country that has been seeking to undermine that process and roll back the independent Europe that’s whole and free and push it back, that’s your foreign policy objective.
“So then you look at the United States and you say, ‘Well, which party’s policies would be more likely to allow me to achieve my objectives?’ That’s the way that a Russian leader would think.”

He Ain't Heavy, He's My ComradeIf he doesn’t have anything to do with Russia today, Trump certainly has in the past. As far back as 1987, he was attempting to build branded hotels and condos in Moscow. “It’s a totally interesting place,” he said at the time. “I think the Soviet Union is really making an effort to cooperate in the sense of dealing openly with other nations and in opening up the country.”
His desire to build a Trump Tower near Red Square continued throughout the 1990s and in 2013 the businessman travelled to Moscow, hoping to meet Putin while taking in the Russian debut of his own Miss Universe beauty pageant.
Putin cancelled a meeting at the last minute, according to an oligarch who spoke to the Washington Post, but sent a gift and personal note. Trump did collect a a share of the $14m paid by investors including Aras Agalarov, a Azerbaijani-Russian billionaire property developer and close Putin associate, for bringing Miss Universe to Agalarov’s 7,500-seat Crocus City Hall.
In 2014, Trump told a press luncheon that he “spoke, indirectly and directly, with President Putin, who could not have been nicer”. A year earlier, he told MSNBC: “I do have a relationship and I can tell you that he’s very interested in what we’re doing here today.”
At the pageant in 2013, Trump was photographed with personalities such as the rapper Timati, who has since taken an outspoken pro-Kremlin position, recording a song with the refrain “my best friend is President Putin”.Putin and Trump in Love Actually

The point is why are the republicans trying so hard to interfere and shut down Mueller's investigation? One big reason they give is 17 million dollars for a 18 month investigation without finding any collusion. The investigation mandate covers collusion, foreign government interference in our election and ANY other crime they may discover in the course of their investigation. Mueller’s team has either indicted or gotten guilty pleas from 20 people and three companies — that we know of. That group is composed of four former Trump advisers, 14 Russian nationals, three Russian companies, one California man, and one London-based lawyer. Five of these people (including three former Trump aides) have already pleaded guilty. Money well spent in my estimation and I'm willing to let it play out to it's rightful conclusion. All of Robert Mueller’s indictments and plea deals in the Russia investigation so far
That we know of.

Republican-run Senate committee says Russia tried to help Trump win
That supports the intelligence community’s finding last year that Russian President Vladimir Putin personally ordered the influence campaign to help Trump.

Trump accuses Germany of "being controlled by Russia" because of a fuel deal that German chancellor Angela Merkel made with Russia...which is kind of ironic because: (1) Merkel did grow up in what used to be East Germany, which was controlled by Russia (as the Soviet Union) from 1945 to 1989, and (2) Trump is basically Vladimir Putin's love child:

America is being controlled right now by a foreign power... People need to understand that this is what the GOP has now become: a group of people secretly aiding a hostile power from within. Meanwhile...most of the population has been asleep or in denial because of political, religious and other ideological biases. So many will have a hard time believing the sheer number of Americans who were willing to sell out their country... of course 12 more russians were indicted today....

Quote by Dianna: And let's not ever forget that this same GOP were the biggest bunch of anti-Commies for the better part of the 20th century, and took the time to paint Democrats, liberals, and progressives, especially during the Red Scare, as having given aid and comfort to "the enemy". One more example of the Right's radiant hypocrisy.

It is odd that any president of the USA will meet with any other leader nonetheless with a Russian ALONE. My guess is Trump will tell Putin "GOOD WORK" and "KEEP THE HELP COMING." He will then go on to get his next directives from Putin. Both men are out to create chaos for their own benefit and not the benefit of their respective countries. Both are enriching themselves greatly by their positions at the expense of their citizens.
And both are part of political parties that have NO problem with what they are doing nor is their core base. Trump has just hired former disgraced FOX News executive to lead his propaganda council ( www.thenation.com/article/trumps-hiring-foxs-bill-shine-illustrates-debased-politics/ ). It’s just another chance to ask, “Are we living an actual nightmare?” And Julian Assange and Wikileaks are complicit and need to be taken down. They are a subversive outlier propaganda arm of this Fake News cabal.
What the end result will be once the smoke clears is anyone's guess? I think I prefer the "Old World Order" to this fascist corporate "New World Order of Oligarchs" that they are creating.Rod Rosenstein Details The Extent Of Russians’ Hacking In 2016 Election | NBC NewsThe Reputincan Party has been trying hard to get rid of Rosenstein to shut him up. Glad he got this in before they succeeded. Russians tried to hack Clinton emails same day Trump publicly asked them to, says Russia probe indictmentAndrew Buncombe, The Independent •July 13, 2018
Russian hackers allegedly made their first attempt to hack the emails of Hillary Clinton and her campaign staff on the same day Donald Trump publicly asked them to.
’“”Documents released by Special Counsel Robert Mueller in connection with the indictment of 12 Russian intelligence officers, claim the hackers targeted a domain used by Ms Clinton’s personal office “on or about July 27 2016”.
–The indictment alleges the hackers also on that day, targeted 76 email accounts belonging to the Clinton campaign by means of so-called spear phishing – a technique used to try and access specific addresses.
That attack came during the middle of the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, which had already been rocked by the publication by Wikileaks of previously hacked emails that revealed members of the supposedly neutral Democratic National Committee were biased in favour of Ms Clinton and had worked to undermine her primary rival, Bernie Sanders.
Amid the controversy, which resulted in the resignation of DNC chairwoman, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Mr Trump held a press conference in Florida where he was campaigning.
’At the press conference, Mr Trump sought to draw attention to the controversy about Ms Clinton’s improper use of a private email server while serving as secretary of state, something that was investigated by the FBI but ultimately resulted in no criminal charges.
–A year earlier, Ms Clinton had given the State Department around 30,000 work-related emails from the private server she used. She said another 33,000 were deleted because they were personal in nature – something Mr Trump repeatedly seized on.
’Mr Trump told reporters in at his Doral Golf Centre in Miami, he hoped the Russian hackers, said to have been behind the theft of the emails from the DNC which had embarrassed the Democrats, searched for Ms Clinton’s deleted emails.
“”“’’”“If they hacked, they probably have her 33,000 emails. I hope they do,” he said. “They probably have her 33,000 emails that she lost and deleted. You’d see some beauties, so we’ll see.”
“”He added: “Russia, if you are listening. I hope you are able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing. I think you will probably be rewarded mightily by the press.”
“’’”Asked if he was concerned that he was apparently encouraging Russia to spy on an American political party, he added: “It gives me no pause. If Russia or China or any of those country gets those emails, I’ve got to be honest with you, I’d love to see them.”
’“”At the time, Ms Clinton’s campaign hit back angrily. “This has to be the first time that a major presidential candidate has actively encouraged a foreign power to conduct espionage against his political opponent,” it said.
“’”“That’s not hyperbole. Those are just the facts. This has gone from being a matter of curiosity and a matter of politics to being a national security issue.” Some of those in the Trump campaign suggested the candidate was merely joking.
“’”The former reality TV star doubled down on his comments on Twitter, saying: “If Russia or any other country or person has Hillary Clinton’s 33,000 illegally deleted emails, perhaps they should share them with the FBI!”
“’’’’”He later claimed he was being sarcastic, telling Fox News: “Of course I was being sarcastic. And frankly, they don’t even know if it’s Russia, if it’s China, if it’s someone else. Who knows who it is.”
’’’Mr Mueller’s indictment does not mention Mr Trump’s comments. Rod Rosenstein, the deputy attorney general and the Justice Department official overseeing Mr Mueller’s probe, said officials were not alleging in the indictment that American citizens had knowingly been in contact with the Russians about the hacking.
“”“The conspirators corresponded with several Americans during the course of the conspiracy through the internet,” Mr Rosenstein said.
“’”“There’s no allegation in this indictment that the Americans knew they were corresponding with Russian intelligence officers.”
’The indictment claims the Russian hackers were officers Russia’s military intelligence agency, the GRU.
“”“In addition to releasing documents directly to the public, the defendants transferred stolen documents to another organisation, not named in the indictment, and discussed timing the release of the documents in an attempt to enhance the impact on the election,” said Mr Rosenstein.
It is assumed the organisation indictment is referring to is WikiLeaks. Reuters said WikiLeaks, which was not indicted, did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
