Interesting segment from NPR. In 2014 the Obama administration helped fund Mexican efforts to stop immigration from their own southern border with Central America. They have been quite successful and stop many more people than the US government stops at our own southern border. Illegal immigration was way down under Obama to the point where those here were going back home in numbers greater than ever before. This isn't the story we get from our white nationalist president. This short segment is worth a listen. How Mexico Has Been Using Checkpoints And Deportations To Address MigrationMay 4, 2018·4:06 PM ET Heard on All Things Considered James Fredrick
The U.S. is pressuring Mexico to crack down on Central Americans trying to come north. But migrants say they've already been facing a maze of checkpoints and Mexican law enforcement on their efforts to find a safe home.

more Julian Assange blowback for electing TrumpNearly 90,000 Hondurans May Be Deported to Danger and Poverty as Trump Ends Their Protected Status Published on May 7, 2018 democracynow.org - The Trump administration announced Friday it is ending temporary protected status for nearly 90,000 Hondurans now living in the United States, saying they must return home. TPS is an immigration status granted to foreign nationals who can’t safely return to their home countries, and allows them to legally live and work in the United States. Hondurans were first given TPS in 1999 after Hurricane Mitch devastated the country. Critics note Honduras remains the one of the world’s most violent countries. The Trump administration has also ended protections for El Salvador, Haiti, Nepal, Nicaragua and Sudan. Only South Sudan and Syria were renewed. An estimated 300,000 people will be impacted overall. We get response from Patricia Montes, an immigrant from Honduras and executive director of Centro Presente in Boston, Massachusetts, which has worked with members from Honduras and Central America since the 1980s. She also has family members who will lose their temporary protected status.

ZERO TOLERANCE
Trump and his republiconservatives really stepped into it this time. And despite FACTS refuting his false claim that Democrats are to blame he still pushes his blame game narrative. For 8 long years republiconservatives obstructed President Obama's efforts on immigration reform and before Obama we had 8 years of "do nothing" on reform with Bush. Republicons did NOT want reform because it was in their best interest to continue with this cheap labor scenario. Well times have changed. We need a coherent and acceptable immigration policy. And Trump is right. We can no longer be a dumping ground for everyone with economic problems. At some point WE all will suffer. This is not just a US problem. It is a world problem. Look for things to get even worse as republiconservatives continue to stick their heads in the sand about global warming and all the migration problems that will cause.
Republiconservatives need a moral reckoning. Evidently Trump's republicon administration has told the caregivers NOT to touch or comfort these incarcerated children. I think that is especially cruel. Using children like this as a bargaining tool to get a wall or harsh immigration policy speaks tons about todays conservatism.
‘It’s disgraceful’: Some Trump supporters condemn family separations at border Michael Walsh 4 hours ago .
The President blames family separations at the border on Democrats
For some of President Trump’s supporters, his administration’s policy of separating children from their families when they illegally cross the U.S. border goes too far.
In April, Attorney General Jeff Sessions announced that all instances of illegal entry would be referred for criminal prosecution — part of a “zero tolerance” policy. According to the Department of Homeland Security, nearly 2,000 children were separated from their families at the border between April 19 and May 31.
The White House has repeatedly, and falsely, blamed the “Democrats’ law” for the separations, and Kellyanne Conway, a counselor to the president, has said that “nobody likes this policy.”

But the United States does not have a law on the books that requires undocumented children to be separated from parents who enter the country illegally. The separations are the result of the Trump administration’s decision to prosecute the adults as criminals, which requires the separations.
Conservative political pundit Bill O’Reilly, a close Trump ally, is among the administration’s critics. The former Fox News star shared an article about former first lady Laura Bush’s opposition to the policy and said the government should know how bad it looks.
“That kind of scenario is unacceptable to most Americans as exemplified by former First Lady Laura Bush’s withering criticism,” O’Reilly tweeted Monday.
Christian evangelist Franklin Graham, the son of late influential preacher Billy Graham, also criticized the Trump administration about the issue. The younger Graham is close to Trump; he spoke at Trump’s inauguration and prayed that God would bless his administration.
“It’s disgraceful, and it’s terrible to see families ripped apart and I don’t support that one bit,” Graham said last week on the Christian Broadcasting Network. “I blame the politicians for the last 20, 30 years that had allowed this to escalate to the point where it is today.”
During a Monday appearance on “Fox & Friends,” Trump’s favorite TV show, Alan Dershowitz — a conservative attorney who often defends Trump — made a direct appeal to the president to stop separating children from their parents.
“You have to end this policy of separating parents from children. Not because of the parents, but because of the children. It imposes a trauma on the children,” Dershowitz said. “It imposes a trauma on the children. It’s just unacceptable. It’s just not proper. There are other ways of doing this.”

Dershowitz suggested sending the parents and the children back to their country of origin instead.
“Mr. President, it just has to stop. There are better ways of doing this. You’re better than this. The American people are better than this,” he continued. “The American government is better than this, so I implore you to stop this now.”
Former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci also spoke out against Trump’s policy on CNN Monday morning, calling the separations “inhumane” and “cruel.” Regardless of how the U.S. wound up in this situation, he said, Trump should call the separations off.
“He’s got to step in there and he’s got to end this thing because I think it’s an atrocious policy. It’s inhumane. It’s offensive to the average American,” Scaramucci said.
Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., a sometime Trump critic, told CNN’s Kate Bolduan on Friday that despite the fact that Trump professes he is helplessness to decide the fates of these children, he has the power to stop the separations immediately.
“President Trump could stop this policy with a phone call,” Graham said. “I’ll go tell him: If you don’t like families being separated, you can tell DHS: ‘Stop doing it.'”

This confirms everything I have been saying about the reptilians amongst us, REPUBLICONSERVATIVES. There are better ways of doing things. I agree we need a comprehensive immigration policy that makes sense but how you go about it is important. Two-thirds of Americans disapprove of separating families at border, but most Republicans support it Dylan Stableford 13 hours ago .

As President Trump ramped up his attacks on illegal immigrants who “infest” America, two new polls showed overwhelming opposition to the administration’s policy of separating children from parents who illegally bring them across the border. But the majority of Republicans support it.
According to a Quinnipiac University survey released on Monday, 66 percent of American voters oppose the “zero tolerance” policy, enacted in April, that has resulted in more than 2,000 children being separated from their families. Just 27 percent of the survey respondents approve.
Most Republicans, however, support the policy. The Quinnipiac survey found 55 percent of GOP voters approve of the policy, compared to 35 percent who disapprove. The CNN poll had Republican support for family separation at 58 percent, with 34 percent disapproving.
Both polls were conducted between June 14 and June 17 — largely before the national news media descended on detention facilities in Texas to cover the border crisis.
“What is happening here is testing our better angels on multiple fronts,” Lester Holt said while anchoring “NBC Nightly News” live from McAllen, Texas, on Monday night, “challenging our competing values of protecting our sovereignty and honoring our hearts.”

I would like to tell people to make sure they vote in November to get us on our way to getting these reptiles out of office but the system is so rigged in THEIR favor it might not do any good. But at least it will give people some satisfaction that they did vote to try to make a difference.
Yes, this woman Kirstjen Nielsen is a real pill. I doubt she will last long after this unless she has a really thick reptilian skin and brain. She seems to be very "in your face."
Evidently, Steven Miller is behind a lot of these decisions. For Trump, this is all about getting HIS WALL:

And to refer to some of these places as "Tender Age Facilities"...well, there's something straight out Orwell. But in reality, they are internment camps. I'd even go so far as to label them concentration camps. That is how barbaric we have become as a nation in the seventeen months since Trump became our Fuhrer.
